Overall the product is satisfactory. The spigot is not made properly for attaching a hose at all. So of you buy this purchase a brass spigot. Also we are using this in or garden. I'm handicapped and can't get to our hose so we put this in the garden for me to use. We filled it from the hose and noticed after filling that it was full of millipedes and other bugs. Aside from that After cleaning it and putting on a brass spigot it is great.

I bought this rain barrel to try and get rid of a problem with my gutter downspout which allowed water draining to run back along side my house. So far, so good, I was able to connect a short hose which allows the water to drain away from the house. One thing to note, shortly after putting the rain barrel in we had a two inch rain that filled the 50 gallon barrel. I have now taken the rain barrel in for the winter and will put it back out in the spring when temperatures are above freezing.

Purchased this product 05/23/17. Love the design and color. Barrel worked well for a couple of days. For some reason, the top spigot stopped working first. So, I started using the bottom spigot. Well, it worked for about two days and then for some reason the water will not flow out unless the short hose that I attached is stretch flat on the ground. I have to tilt my bucket forward almost horizontal to the ground to get water. Takes a few minutes to get a bucket of water. As soon as the water in it gets low, I'll switch out the plastic spigots with the more durable spigot that came with the product and see what happens.

Purchased this barrel in the spring, and before the first week was over the bottom spigot broke off. We have been in contact with customer service but response is slow; it’s the end of July and we haven’t had a working barrel all summer. They offered a replacement spigot that has not arrived in a month, I’ve tried to contact them to follow up with no response, and I’m not convinced the piece will appropriately attach to the broken barrel to solve our problem.

I got this rain barrel for my birthday last year (2016) and LOVE it! The lower drain it great since mine sits in an elevated flower bed and I put a 6ft hose to it and can just turn the the handle and fill my watering can that sits lower. I drilled the holes out in the planter just to help the water drain thru, but, being so shallow it's not really good for flower planting, so I just put some small landscaping rocks in it, added a rain chain and look/works great! No problem with the spigot, just remember to be careful putting it on and not to knock it, but it can be changed out easily with one from HD plumbing area.

Spigot threads crack or unglue easily. Pours slowly.
The color, shape, size and price great. Big problems though with the spigot threads. First barrel the top spigot cracked as I hand tightened. Got a second one, was good for a month, and when I opened the bottom spigot on a hot day and the glue came loose.
They have 3/4 threads, but on both barrel gave me 3/4 thread converted to 1/2 pipe. Poured so slowly i bought my own wth 3/4 which si 4x faster. A lot of rain barrel manufacturers make the same mistake, very few have hi flow.
Poorly planned and cheap thin plastic design. Going to try gorilla glue wish me luck. If that does not work, I'm done.

Good Looking and Functional Barrel
If you replace the cheap plastic valves with brass one-turn shut off valve, these barrels not only look good but will function perfectly for you! I could not find the 1.5 inch vinyl hose the instructions recommend for joining two barrels, at least one long enough, not to mention that an 1.5 inch hose is awfully large and would be almost impossible to bend. I joined two barrels together by using black vinyl discharge hose. This hose fit snugly INSIDE the outlet and inlet of each barrel and doesn't need to be water tight since it's just draining water from the first barrel to the second. I was able to easily remove the hose and empty out the last bit of rainwater and sentiment from the barrels after watering my flower bed and lawn.

Pleased with my purchase!
I bought this to use as a storage of grey water from my washing machine. I had to do some adjustments, remove the screen in order to slip the hose in the barrel. The screen did not drain fast enough with the amount of water being pumped from the barrel. I connected a very light hose to the bottom faucet. I am able to water my landscape plants with the hose. I wanted something nice looking that was going to sit on my patio. I am very happy with my purchase. I wish they were priced at the 50.00 dollar range.

Leaks: do not buy
One of my Castilla 50 gallon rain barrel, charcoalstone from Home Depot leaked like a sieve from the bottom.. No single crack that I could've sealed, but the entire bottom appeared to be not water tight and water continuously bubbled out from its entire bottom surface. The 2nd barrel had same type of leaking but from the side. No obvious cracks or damage to either barrel. Completely disappointing.
