Loading sandpaper a bit difficult. Able to easily hand sand surfaces. This block has a different feel than the permanent sponge-like sanding blocks. Of course, it uses 1/4 sheet sandpaper, so you can change the grit easily, and this block has more support because of the rigid design. Two indentations make it easy to grip. The only negative is the way you load the sandpaper. You have to pull the top of the block back and the sandpaper is held in place by three spikes. I would have preferred to have the top hinged that would then snap in place. Pulling the top back was a little difficult, but the tension is what keeps the sandpaper on the points and keeps it in place. The tension may weaken over time and leave this unusable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I've attached a couple photos so you can see for yourself that it works. I should have taken a before photo for comparison. Trust me, there was no yellow or brown leaves on anything.I applied it with a push, broadcast sprayer. I had to wait for the weather to cooperate. The yard needed to be wet for the granules to stick to the leaves of the weeds. They also ask to avoid winds so it doesn't blow around. After applying they ask that it goes undisturbed for 48 hours. No mowing, watering/rain. A certain range of temps are required for it to work properly. I don't remember the temps but I finally got all of the criteria to happen for me. The dollar weed is showing the best results. The clover is unaffected and the grass suffered no damage. It worked very well but there are still weeds to contend with. Throw in the moles I can't get rid of and Fire ants and it turns to a lot of work for me. At least I'm off to a great start thanks for using this herbicide

Very comfortable sanding block - fits my hand well and has great grip so I don't lose it while working. On each end there is a small ridge that keeps your fingers from slipping off the front while you're sanding. I really like this feature and it works very well. I used this to sand some hard to reach spots on a custom King Bed I was preparing to stain. It got into the small corner well. I cut 150 grit diablo sand paper to size and put it in this. It can be a bit finicky to get the paper taught but it isn't too bad. If you leave some extra on the sides it curls up over the edge of the block and you can sand perpendicular faces very well. I'm very happy with this sanding block and it has earned a permanent spot in my sanding arsenal

Soft Grip Sanding Block is a good alternative to using a scrap wood sanding block. I wasn't expecting much from an inexpensive sanding block, but was pleasantly surprised with this one. It fits my hand nicely and securely. It holds 2 5/8-inch by 9-inch strip of sandpaper which is a fourth sheet size from a large sheet. The block has clamps at either side that pinch the paper along with pointed spikes to hold the ends as they are inserted from coming loose. Its pretty stiff to get the paper in tight at first, but take your time to figure it out. I found thin sheets go in better than thicker one which is the coarser grit sandpaper sheets. As one reviewer mentioned, forcing it will damage the end clips, but over time it should ease up. I used fine grit and had little problems both slipping it in and holding the paper tight. This block has a flat paper side and the top slopes up in a curve to comfortably cup your hand. Its more comfortable than a wood block and the paper doesn't shift around. The flat side where the sandpaper lies flat has rows of holes which I'm not sure the necessity except maybe to dissipate friction heat or to take the weight out? If the holes bothers you, I found slipping a piece of cardboard (I used the packaging cardboard) to covered the holes under the sandpaper, but really didn't need it. In summary, the tool's fine for sanding smaller areas where a sandpaper block is used.

I don't believe anyone makes sandpaper cut to fit this sanding block, you have to take a standard 9" x 11" sheet and cut it down to fit. Once you get the paper to size it is very easy to load into the sanding block however when it comes time to remove it and put fresh paper in it's hard to get the old paper out. There are internal spikes that hold the paper into position and getting the paper off of these to remove it is difficult. The sanding surface of the block has many holes cast into it which is fine but there was a lot of flash rubber around the holes I had to trim this off because it created lumps under the sandpaper and I was getting streaks when doing fine sanding. I wasn't impressed with this tool.

This is a great sanding block and is a welcome replacement for the 2x4 scraps I usually use. It is essentially one piece of hard rubber and sand paper is secure with teeth in the clasps. I find it ergonomic and it fits in my hand very well. Cutting sand paper to size is pretty easy, I just fold it around the block and tear. No issues there. The block allows me to apply good pressure and is durable. This is a welcome tool in my workshop.

This soft grip sanding block from the Allway Tool Inc. is just what I have been looking for to replace a plastic sanding block that I broke years ago. Since then I have been using a scrap piece of wood to serve as a sanding block. As many of you probably know this does not work well and actually slows down your sanding effort. With this sanding block you cut up a 2 and 5/8 by 9 inch strip from a 9 by 11 inch sandpaper sheet; you get four strips from each sheet. The strip attaches easily to the teeth on either end of the block and stays in place until you remove it. This soft grip block is easy to hold and use. I noticed after a long duration use the palm of my hand was not sore; this is a plus. See attached photographs.

Good job, Allway! Simple and functional. Cut your sandpaper into 2.625 x 9" sheets [you'll get four of those from a standard 9x11" sheet]. Rest the palm of your hand on the center of the topside hump, grab the flap, and pull back; slip the paper in and release; do that with the other end and you're done. The block is comfortable to hold; bigger or smaller and your hand's likely to tire. When I'm gripping it, my thumb's on the left side, my middle and index fingers are on top, and my ring and pinky fingers curl comfortable over the right edge. Maybe the block could have been made a 1/4-to 1/2" taller [since my pinky drags on the workpiece. The bottom of the block is 'perforated' with 1/4" diameter 'holes' ... more like recesses since they don't do thru. It certainly lightens the block but maybe their true function is to improve the sandpaper's efficiency? I couldn't tell. Tip ... before loading the first sheet, knock off the 'flash' around these 'holes' ... you don't want their 'bumps' to communicate thru the paper to the work surface. I expect to get years of service out of this.
