Q:I bought the PUR 2800 because it said that you could adjust the flow, which you can not. I have a small pond, two pre-fabed liners, one 50 gallons and the other is 250 gallons. The waterfall is about 4 feet high. Will this pump work or is it too big?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My Free to Review Alpine Corp Eco-Twist Pump with Controller panel, 5300Gallons Per Hour with 33' Cord electrical, Is a Very nice quiet reasonable Sized ( 1'x 6"x 8) pump great for circulation in your pond or moving 5000 gallons of water over a shortish distance constantly. Not all season but then a 5000 gallon pond freezes unless well south right? Highly recommend this pump for general healthy water maintenance of any water source you have.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased the Alpine corporation Eco twist pump with controller with a 33 inch cord and my husband took the time to install it and we are both loving it. There is simple maintenance with a removable rotor assembly. There is a 75% reduction in energy consumption. It saves about eight teen 122 kW per year. So far my husband has told me that it is very easy to use and control. I would recommend this for anyone who’s putting in a pond or currently has a pond and needs a new pump.

I selected the Alpine corporation Eco-Twist pump 5300 GPH version with controller for a new water-feature (cascading water over large rocks into a pond) that is being planned for installation in my backyard this Spring. In talking with various landscapers, they indicated the Alpine Corp twist pump (with magnetic motor) was the way to go to save on energy costs. This pump many features and can be submerged or placed in a box (below water level). The twist feature also the outlet to to be adjusted to any angle for hose attachment. We plan on designing the pond to have 2000 GPH for normal state and up to 5300 GPH when being viewed. Having the controller allows the pump to be even more super efficient and only using high volume water fall when needed for effect. Pump has 30' cord and comes with inlet and outlet adapters. The modular design allows for easy tear down and maintenance. Overall, this is one of the best pond pumps (if not they best) in pond pumps in the market. I can't wait to install this pump in our new pond.

The pictures on the websites make this pump look small, and not produce a strong stream. That certainly is not true with the Eco-Twist Pump (by Alpine Corporation). This pump is a hefty-pump and is capable of transferring 88- gallons of water a minute. Be sure to follow instructions and use a two-inch pipe to get full use of the pump’s capability.
The Alpine Corporation is not an overseas company but is a U.S. manufacturer who has been producing products since 1999 in California. Warranty and replacement parts come from California.
The pump itself is merely a drop into the water reservoir and use.
Depending on your power source's length to the water reservoir, the 33-foot cord may or may not be long enough; however, the pump only pulls one-half of an amp, so the wattage should be 200. Attaching to an equal size gauge extension cord should pose no problem.
The controller is easy to operate, and you can control the water flow rate with a push of a button. In a short test, the pump was able to everything the manufacturer claims it will. Keep in mind to protect during freezing weather.

The Alpine eco-twist pump is a great replacement for my old waterfall pump. I dropped right in to the well in my pond and easily connected, I did have to mount the controller which was pretty simple . The Controller is great by letting me control the flow of my waterfall and therefore control how much water noise I get from my waterfall. Actually I am getting very nice effects on the low setting. The pump is very quiet, appears to be solidly built and should last for years. I expect it to also be more energy efficient than the 7 year old pump it replaced.

The Alpine Corporation Eco-twist pump is perfect for large pond and waterfall applications. I like the option that the pump can be installed out of the water. Submersible pumps are nice because they are hidden, require less piping, and there is no pump noise. However, they are not always easy to service or to clean any filters and screens. They provide you with adapters for in or out of water installs.
This pump allows you to select the angle for discharge.
The long cording is handy as it gives you options for installation.
The controller is easy operate to regulate the flow.

An Excellent Pond Pump
I purchased this pump a few years ago for many reasons. The price was right, it has a 33-foot cord, and only uses 35 watts of electricity. It has done everything I hoped for. And when I contacted Alpine's customer service with questions, I got an actual person! My computer wasn't 'talking' to a robot! That's so refreshing these days. They were very courteous and helpful. I highly recommend this pump and this company.
