The on off switch is a rocker type switch mounted at the bottom of the left vertical railing. It has a Red light that illuminates when the towel rack is on. I leave mine on almost all the time except if we are traveling and will be gone for several days.

Hi Brianna - the blocking should be made behind the wall where the leg extensions meet the wall. It is typically easiest to have 2 horizontal pieces of 2x4 wood behind your drywall for this.

Jason - the unit only draws 1.3amps and does not need a dedicated circuit. You can tie it into the existing 15amp or 20amp circuit present for the bathroom and use standard 14 or 16 gauge wire to connect it.
