is this window egress for Florida
    ByMay 5, 2026

    Answer This Question

This window does not meet the federal egress guidelines. The clear opening height is only 17.72 inches and it needs to be at least 24 inches to meet the federal guidelines.

I also would like to know where the QMID is on these products please? I have 2 windows that qualify and a hw heater. IRS site says go to the manufacture site which takes you to nothing but manufacture and store numbers, product info, etc. Not a credit!

                  NICE WINDOW for the PRICE
I just installed this window today and it went well. I have a block home with stucco here in Florida. I take out the old window's glass panes first then I saw the frame crossbars in half and the old window pulls out easily at that point. Just clean up the calk and trim the vinyl flanges a bit if needed and your all set. As most others say, the quality of the window is really pretty darn good for the price. You can pay ALOT more for Anderson or PELLA windows but I am not sure that they are that much better. I mean what more do MOST people need a window for : it shines light thru the glass, it opens, it shuts, and locks in place....period.....I will be buying more as I need to replace my old fogged up windows after 20 years of use.

We installed American Craftsman 70 Series Single Hung Vinyl Window with Masonry Flange & Sun Glass of various sizes all around house - a total of 10 windows! The reasons, besides the obvious electricity savings, were lower exterior noise, more light into the house and comfort we experienced after installation. The house feels right and the heating and cooling system goes on less often. Excellent quality and ease of installation makes for a great result. Highly recommended!

These windows were fairly easy to install. It was worth it for the price point of $200 per window. It was our first installation and we did three of these and two of which required a mull. Took from about 7:30am to 12:30pm on a Sunday with novice guys. Our window areas were in good condition so we didn't need to renew a lot of wood on our block house. Test locks and sliders before and as you install. We did have to return the smaller version of these windows twice. I think these are a great value when compared to what some folk wanted to install three windows. It is a project that a novice can do if the window holes of your house are standard sizes. If you have block construction some of the stucco will have to be removed and replaced. If installing two with a mull you will need three guys on the outside and two inside due to putting the two windows together first then installing. We used two 6' tables to connect the windows to the bar first then lift into the window.

Perfect upgrade to those old 1978- ish thin plate glass windows use here in florida. Quieter by alot, better sealing, clearer glass and a perfect match in n size for the kitchen window 52x 37.25.(may be a tad narrower in the sides but still doable as a plug and play. I will order more of these after installing my first window ever.

The measurements on this site and on the package say 35 7/8" x 37 1/4" as the buck dimensions. I left the window in the packaging to protect it until I was ready to install...and after cutting out my concrete block wall and making the PT frame for this at those dimensions, I discover that the ACTUAL dimensions are 36'x37 1/2". Now, one might say "1/4" off is no big deal..." but it IS! I nearly broke the window twice while installing it because of the incorrect buck size. And now I have to do some major concrete repair to fix what broke while trying to make the frame fit the window. I like the window and I eventually got it installed, but what should have been a 5 minute install after framing turned into a hour long fiasco with a lot of cursing directed at whomever is responsible for the label... In short, if you get this window, either for new install or replacement, be warned that it is bigger than the package claims.
