The fertilizer gets injected in at a very low rate over a longer period of time. Using a tow behind sprayer would not work for a one time application. A:  Hi Sally. Major active component of this formula is urea - (NH2)2CO. Hard to say if they will be any "chemistry" with your water conditioner without knowing composition of the conditioner. [Urea may complex metal cations/proton, however not sure that aggressive and irreversible (precipitation and gas formation) reactions will occur] . Try to grab sample of water from your tank and mix with the product at expected ratio. Then see for effect in time. Hope it help!

A:  Good one! Let’s do the math together. 1 Gal is good enough for 4000 ft. (according to claims on the bottle) and you need to apply the P source only once a month. Also let’s assume that you do "normal gentle" watering of lawn cycle ~0.5" per sq. ft. This converts to ~312 Gal/1000 sq. ft. or ~1248 Gal/4000 sq. ft. Thus, I would say that recommended ratio would be 1 Gal of LAWN FERTILIZER to ~1250 Gal of water (or to 2500 Gal if you do 1" of water/sq. ft.). You may need to measure your flow-rate to meter fertilizer more precisely and adjust the coverage for your lawn size. Also make sure that there will be no heavy rain after you apply the fertilizer, otherwise everything end up in local creeks and lakes. Hope it all helps!
