Has anyone managed to restrict the flow through this hose with a restrictor? My washing machine ...

Had the same problem - we restricted flow with a valve on hose and all worked fine - UNTIL...….replaced washer with a new model and everything went bad. Turned out old washer had sensors that told the machine that all water had drained - new washer uses TIME to tell machine that all water SHOULD be drained. Because valve restricted flow, all water was NOT drained when machine went into next cycle. Machine got all screwed up - would not work properly at all. Bottom line - house is old, had cast iron drain that was pretty clogged up causing water to back up. Had it cleaned out - NO WORKY!!! Ended up having pipes replaced with PVC. WAS NOT CHEAP.....but all works well now.

What is the inner diameter of the corrugated hose?

My portable mini washer has a 3/4" hose barb on washer discharge hose. Will this fit tightly so no leaks.

(What's this)
My washing machine has had the same discharge hose for long than I’ve owned the house. And if there’s anything they tell you about plumbing hoses is that they should be replaced periodically. Granted the ones under pressure are usually stressed more (I already got those done earlier this year), but anything to prevent water damage (especially if it’s an inexpensive “fix”) is a good thing to a home owner. Especially if it doesn’t take much time. In fact, the biggest pain about this one (literally) was getting behind the machine. To start, the bag says “expanded end fits 1 in, 1 1/8 in, and 1 1/4 in washing machine discharge stub”. And that’s true, to a point. My stub was 1”, and even after cutting off the large flange on the hose end, the fit felt a bit loose. However, this was not a problem after I put on the new hose and clamped it with the same high tension spring clamp that was on the older hose (I leaked checked it through a spin cycle - no leaks). As an aside, the bag mentions “Helpful Tools: Screwdriver”. What it should have said was “Channel lock pliers” (or something similar), to help you with the spring clamp you’re going to need to take off your old fitting and put on the new one. A screwdriver would have made a mess of that. I also like the design at the “top” end of the hose; it holds the hose in such a way that it doesn’t want to pop out of the discharge piping on the wall. The one it replaced wasn’t bad at staying in place, but this one instills me with even more confidence that it’s not going to get bumped and get loose. Which is good, because that’s a good place for a surprise flood if that happens.

(What's this)
Had to reuse hose clamp when swapping out hose but the hose seems to be of decent quality. Not as thick as previous rubber hose but has a nice bend to help direct water in the laundry sink without it splashing as long as it's positioned correctly. Used some zip ties to keep it secure and at the right angle in the sink. Hose was easy to install and is working well.

(What's this)
This 5 Foot Washing Machine Drain Hook Hose ( Universal Fit) is not Universal, it does have some very good features like the molded 90* fitting on the hose to hold it on the drain pipe, or stationary tub. The bad feature is that it does not come with any clamps, and the bottom part of the hose does not fit all washing machines. The value is only fair for these reasons.

If your going to be DUMB you better be tough I bought two. The hose disintegrated at the bend going into the drain from the water pressure it even ate the bracket that formed the bend. Tried different radiuses same result. the bend needs to be solid pvc. This product is cheaply made but not cheaply sold.

The product packaging clearly states that this hose is for 1", 1-1/8' and 1-1/4" stub connections. That's a male connection only. The rubber tip is to be trimmed to the proper diameter to make a good connection with a hose clamp. This hose does not fit into female connections, such as the one on my GE washer. The product description is wrong.

Works Great!
Bought this after reading the review that said you need to feed the hose further into the curved holder that the end of hose sets in. I simply pulled the mid section end of the holder off the hose and fed the hose through the end of the holder so It was about 8-12 inches beyond the end of the holder, then snapped the end of the holder back onto the hose to hold it snugly in place, and it worked great! Doing this not only kept the hose in place, it also took up the slack so the hose wasn't resting on the floor. Thanks for the tip! I definitely recommend this hose.

Bought this due to my existing hose leaking at connection. I thought I would just swap it and be done. This hose is so cheap it cracked when tightening the new hose clamp. It wasn't too tight, just good and snug, but it cracked. Ended up having to reuse my old hose with a new clamp. Do not buy this! It's super cheap!!
