Questions & Answers

Is this product plastic or enameled wood?

is the toilet seat curved or flat?

my friend has one that the top goes down slowly, and the seat is slightly curved , i'm hoping that this is the seat that she has. I know she bought it at Home depot.
Asked by: irishreagan
This seat slopes into the center. Obviously the outside edge is curved as well and the seat is somewhat narrower at the back than in front (but the lid does not narrow and covers the seat and bowl completely). Hope that helps.

Toliet Seat

I have a Glacier Bay toliet model # N2316. Would like to know if they offer a "slow close", elongated closed toliet seat? If not, could I use another brand such as American Standard? Thanks
Asked by: Ronnie
I bought a Kohler toilet and installed a American Standard slow close seat and It is working just fine.

Does this seat come with the necessary installation hardware?

I am replacing a toilet seat on my American Standard toilet. The seat I have is in good condition, but the bolt assembly has deteriorated.

I bought 3 lids to replace the old lids that was on our house we just purchased. They looks great, work well with my American Standard toilet and were easy to install. After 1 month the, seats that were used the most became loose. I would retighten them but they continue to loosen after a few weeks. What makes them so easy to install, also makes them easy to loosen. I emailed AS customer service, it took them 2 months to send out a replacement nut set, and they only sent one set. Finally got tired of them and have replaced with another brand that doesn't loosen over time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It is... It is very very uncomfortable! The opening is too narrow, and it hits the bony part of our buttocks instead of the fleshy part! The opening (at the widest point) is only 7 3/4'.....which is a half inch LESS than the other three toilet seats in our 50-yr-old house. Is this more narrow opening because it is SLOW CLOSE? (My others are white and opening is 8 1/4" opening). That 1/2" makes a big difference in comfort. This slow close is the seat that AS recommended to go with that toilet. We have been trying to "get used to it" for a few weeks, but my family now refuses to even use that toilet. I will go to another company (with my measuring tape) and find another BONE one to fit your toilet. For fifty years, we have always used American Standard products in this house. I chose the BONE color because it matches the original bathtub which is still in great shape. Diane Malhmood

I have an elongated American Standard Toilet where the sides are flush, so have to install seats by reaching in the back of the toilet to screw on. This was easy to install. Like the simple lock mechanism. Shape was ok but it could have been alittle bigger in depth to fit the back better. Overall happy with it

The actual product is well made, and part of an identical product line for the AS series bowl set. My only disappointment is the price upcharge because of the color (the actual bowl set upcharge is quite enormous !!...but I had no choice because of my bathroom color scheme). Otherwise an excellent product.

I told the gentleman helping me I had an American Standard toilet. This is slightly shorter on the sides and feels like it is slipping. As I am not an install person I will live with it and growl about it each day, as I do.

Love, love, love this toilet seat, I disliked plastic toilet seats intensely until I installed this one. The plastic is quite sturdy and of an excellent weight. The automatic “non-slam” feature is great. It is made very well - excellent quality.
