Hello, Thank you for reaching out to the American Standard Consumer Connection Team. This will be the correct flush valve for any Two-Piece Champion tank. If there is anything we can assist you in the future, please feel free to contact us at 1-855-815-0004 Monday – Friday, 8AM – 7PM EST or Saturday 10AM – 4PM and an American Standard Consumer Connection Advisor will be happy to assist you.

I don't need the entire in-tank system, only the the thumbscrew for a Champion 4, model 4215A.101 (I believe). The last Gasket repair kit i used was #7301111-0070A, if that helps you determine the correct model number.

Answer

geil11, The thumbscrew is not a separate repair part and only comes with the flush valve. . Please contact us directly through the American Standard website “Contact Us” located at the bottom of our home page and one of our reps will be able to assist you. Sincerely, your American Standard Consumer Connection Team

Answer

bla bla, If by any chance you are going to your big box store to purchase the seal it will not fit properly. You would need to use part number 7301111-0070A. Please see the below instructions also: You will need to remove the black wing nut and lift off the green dome. Replace the blue seal. When putting the green dome back into place, be sure to line up the four slots on the bottom of it with the four slots on the bottom half of the flush valve that is still in the tank Sincerely, your American Standard Consumer Connection Team

What flapper part do I need for toilet 4149A? It's been "repaired" with a new part but the leak continues and the tank refills every 10-15 minutes. Do I need to replace that brand new part or what needs done to it? Thank you.

L Caffo, The blue seal part number is 7301111-0070A. Please check the below instructions: You will need to remove the black wing nut and lift off the green dome. Replace the blue seal. When putting the green dome back into place, be sure to line up the four slots on the bottom of it with the four slots on the bottom half of the flush valve that is still in the tank Sincerely, your American Standard Consumer Connection Team

I found my way here to this part to completely replace the entire valve but is there not a way to just replace the top portion which is comparable to what used to be called the flapper without replacing the entire flush valve?

Asked by MarkTM931z November 5, 2020

Answer

MarkTM931z, If you have the Champion model which has the blue seal under the green dome all you would need to replace is the blue seal. That part number will be 7301111-0070A. Please contact us directly through the American Standard website “Contact Us” located at the bottom of our home page and one of our reps will be able to help you with this. Sincerely, your American Standard Consumer Connection Team

Answer

samthesonic, It is probably an installation issue. Please see the attached link and let us know if it doesn't help. You will need to remove the black wing nut and lift off the green dome. Replace the blue seal. When putting the green dome back into place, be sure to line up the four slots on the bottom of it with the four slots on the bottom half of the flush valve that is still in the tank. (What's this)
The Champion Universal Toilet Tank valve is a unique design that should provide years of service in most applications. The installation is simple although it does involve removal of the toilet tank. The kit includes a handy wrench for tightening the large tank nut. I discovered in my installation that my 1996 vintage toilet required an approximate 2-1/4" diameter device, whereas the Champion unit was approximately 3-3/8" diameter. The difference in sizes is shown in the attached photo. Even though I was unable to complete the change-out with the Champion unit I like the simplicity of its design.

(What's this)
I received the Champion Universal Toilet tank flapper within 1 week of ordering, the item was packaged well and the product was received in good condition. I have a 9 year old American Standard Champion toilet and the flapper occasionally didn't make a seal causing a slow leak in the water tank. This tank flapper was the exact replacement part for my Champion toilet so I do not know how well this would work in other toilet brands. This part is made of heavy plastic , is anticorrosive and the rubber flapper is made of a flexible quality rubber, not the stiff red or white rubber on some flappers that deteriorates over 3-4 yrs. Installation was fairly easy but you do have to empty the toilet tank and remove the tank to install this product. For female DIY'ers I would make sure you are strong enough to remove the tank if you are installing this on your own. I was able to seat the tank with the gasket provided; however, some people have had difficulty with the gasket and you may want to purchase an extra ring gasket just in case the one included doesn't seal properly. I would recommend this product for replacing flappers in American Standard Champion toilets, easy installation and quality long lasting product.
