What is the distance between the centers of the two outer holes? I need a faucet that has a 6" distance and outer holes that are 1/2" in diameter?

Asked by Mike December 16, 2010

Answer

The distance between the centers of the two outer holes is 4". Typical kitchen faucets that are 2 handle with a deck plate will be an 8" spread. To fit your 6" holes, you could consider a faucet like the Hampton which gives you a little more flexibility with handle placement (http://www.americanstandard-us.com/kitchen-faucets/hampton-two-handle-kitchen-faucet/#tabComponents).

Water seems to be leaking from the base of the spout. What could it be that will make it leak?

Asked by Patrick671 November 25, 2015

Answer

It could be caused by the cartridges with in turn deteriorated the spout seal.

We are considering this faucet as a replacement on an Elkay bar sink we installed 20 some odd years ago. I need to know the actual base measurements of the deck plate of the faucet. Any help would be helpfull.

Answer

Please refer to the link below for all available dimensions. To find the model number of the toilet, look into the tank along the back wall. Impressed, engraved or stamped into the china will be a four-digit number starting with a “2” if you have a one piece toilet or “4” if you have a two piece toilet, and will be 4 digits long. .

I just installed this faucet and when I turn the tap off, water still runs for 1-2 seconds (slows down over this time and then stops). Can I adjust something so that it turns off as soon as I turn off the tap?

Asked by February 21, 2012

Answer

It is normal for the water that is in the neck of the spout to run an extra second or two until it is gone.

I have Colony/Cadet Soft Two-Handle Faucet w/ sprayer. I received the part for the diverter which is installed inside. My (spicket?) has a beauty ring/cover at the bottom of the spicket which must be removed. How or what is the best way to remove this?

Asked by Mike March 2, 2011

Answer

The piece that you are referring to is apart of the spout. It is not removeable. You must remove the entire spout.1. Turn the water supply off. 2. Place a piece of felt around the base of the spout where the spout flange is and use and adjustable wrench to loosen. 3. This spout flange is difficult to move, and may require that you take a vinegar and water solution to loosen any sediment that may have built up on the bottom of the faucet. In extreme build-up cases, you can try CLR, apply it, wait 1-2 minutes, and then thoroughly sponge the area off. 4. After the spout flange is loosened, pull directly up on the spout to remove it. You may have to work the spout back and forth to loosen and pull it away from the threaded base. 5. Take a vinegar and water solution to clean all parts of the gooseneck and the threaded base while the spout is off. 6. Remove the old O-ring (you may have to cut it off) by pulling it off with a strong pair of needle nose. 7. Apply the new O-ring (and clip, if provided) 8. Place silicon-based plumber's grease on the O-ring. 9. Put the spout back onto the cleaned threaded base. 10. Tighten the spout nut or flange. 11. Turn on the water.

It’s one of the only faucets that will fit a 1 inch deck without extra parts, installed in a wet bar area granite countertop, would recommend.

Good quality faucet, terrible job packing for shipping. Box was completely open on arrival. Top retainer flaps had presumably been tucked into sides but had come out. No packaging tape used anywhere. Only thing holding faucet and fittings in the box was wadded paper. Sheer luck nothing appears to have been lost.

Well made and at a great price. In hindsight, I wish I would have chosen a faucet with a little more reach. My fault for not measuring more carefully.

I removed the existing old faucet and installed the new Colony Soft faucet onto the existing sink. Upon turning the water supply back on, I tested the faucet and found that it had a continuous drip from the spout. I contacted American Standard about the matter and they will be sending me new valves. meanwhile I have to wait a week to ten days for the parts so that I can finish the job.

This faucet replaced original equipment which kept getting broken by people forcing a non-swiveling spout to swivel. The problem is solved by this faucet swiveling.
