I have this faucet in my kitchen. The handles are very loose but I can't see what tool to use to tighten them up. I know it's a very small screw but I don't know what kind of driver it takes.

Try using an allen wrench

My American Standard mdl 4275.550 is leaking out from the base of the spikot. It has leaked there before but I was able to tighten the chrome base. There is no leak from the intakes or sprayer.

Is there a shorter spout for this fawcet

Asked by bernie57 September 29, 2014
1
Answer

We do not offer a different spout for this model.

My colony 2 handle is dripping from the spout. Getting worse. How does one remove the cartidge? I took off the handle, unscrewed the nut at the base of the cartridge but I'm not sure what to do next. The cartidge doesn't just turn out or pull out.

Asked by JimRofNH January 27, 2016

Answer

The cartridge will either pull or thread out. If it isn't coming out it may be corroded. Put some white vinegar around the base of the cartridge and let it sit for a little while.

is there an 8" center on the American Standard Colony kitchen faucet?

Asked by BabsT March 7, 2014
1
Answer

Yes, it is 8" from handle to handle.

This is actually a repair question but that was not an option. The gooseneck has been loose ever since initial installation by a (certified plumber). His claim was that water pressure gave it the appearance of being loose but that was normal, he said. ...

The spout is threaded on and if it is leaking the spout seal would need to be replaced.

How long is the threaded supply line underneath  the handle  for this faucet?

They measure approx 20-24".

I have a "Colony Soft" two handle side sprayer kitchen faucet. (Model #4275501F15.002) Does the cap on the spout crew on? I want to replace the O-rings inside because it is leaking water at the bottom. How do I remove the cap? Thanks.

Asked by btu_kwh July 14, 2015
1
Answer

The cap will unscrew, exposing the orings. You can pull up the repair parts diagram online as well.

kitchen sink at the cabin: have 4275.501 faucet with sprayer, but no extra hole drilled for spray. Can I cap off the connection where the sprayer hose attachs? Will the unit still work properly? Is that a 1/2" thread connection?

Asked by joyce July 7, 2011

Answer

Yes you can cap off the bottom, it has 1/4"-18 NTP threads.

Started leaking after about 4 years
Customer review from americanstandard-us.com logo
Had a professional plumber recommend this to me and install it. Started leaking far too early, both from the hot water handle, which was heavily corroded, and from the aerator clip. Won't buy another product like this.

$$ well spent
Customer review from americanstandard-us.com logo
I installed this yesterday and wish I had bought and installed it months ago. Replaced an older model American Standard faucet and it turned out to be a crazy upgrade. Easy to install, looks great, and a fantastic warranty.

Looks nice when installed
Customer review from americanstandard-us.com logo
I took the maintenance supervisors job at a 100 unit high rise. This was the product that was being ordered for kitchen faucet replacement. I do like the ease of replacement and the look, but I am not sold on the construction. First, I have a problem with the spout the o-rings start leaking after about a year in service.Second, The valve nut needs to be brass not pot metal it corrodes and breaks. Third, I am not real crazy about the plastic valve stems. It’s a nice product easy to work on just needs some better materials in the construction. I am finding it difficult to find parts.

This is an affordable and reasonably stylish faucet that I was happy with until it started leaking, after 4 years of light use, at which time I replaced it with a heavier duty faucet.

not built to last
Customer review from americanstandard-us.com logo
the faucet lasted a year and perhaps four months before one of the valves went....handle came off and water came blasting out....happened because of corrosion.....nut holding the valve down was not brass like the faucet body....could not repair it since the threads for the nut were compromised from the corrosion....would not recommend at all.....if you do buy it, make sure to keep the receipt....without it, you will have wasted time and money....

Entry level faucet & easy to swap out
Customer review from americanstandard-us.com logo
This is a entry level kitchen faucet and relatively easy to install. Kitchen sees quite a bit of cooking/cleaning use and the kitchen faucet in our household the kitchen fuacet is practically used every hour of the day making it important it be drip free and reliable. This faucet has a wobbly shutoff so be aware you are not too over-agressive turning water on and off. I normally swap out the kitchen faucet on a 3-year cycle and the design of this fixture is a joy to replace. No need for a high end American Standard kitchen faucet since kids tends to dent/mar even the most indestructable fixture in our home. It would be nice if more thought was put into the design such that as you turn off water the handles would not "flex" as you near the quarter turn. Ceramic washerless is definitely the way to go as I normally get a few years service before I have to consider replacing ceramic/washerless cartridges. Being a "old school" homeowner I avoid flex water supply lines instead gravitate to solid metal tube supply lines... a bit longer to install but guaranteed never to rupture or leak when measured, installed, and torqued properly
