I installed 3 of these about a year ago. Now two of them leak through the center hole where the speed connect pop up assembly enters the sink. I have young kids, so there is often standing water around the faucet, which leaks through. Should I reinstall them with plumbers putty on the bottom of the faucet assembly to stop the leak?
Asked by: Zach
No, do not use putty. Use the seal that came with it. Or Silicone Cauk under ring.

How do you remove the valve? I'm trying to replace one, but after removing the handle, the screw, the adapter, and the valve nut, it still doesn't budge.

Asked by: Ros51
It will either thread out or pull out. If it is not coming out try putting some white vinegar around them or if you are going to replace them you can use some WD40.

Customer Reviews

Colony Soft 4 in. Centerset 2-Handle Low-Arc Bathroom Faucet in Brushed Nickel with Speed Connect Drain is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 26.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice faucet for a good price! I looked around at numerous faucets when I replaced my bathroom sink and vanity. This one was inexpensive, and yet had a nice classic look that went very well with my bathroom. It was fairly easy to install, although the handle on the hot water valve keeps coming loose...Probably user error, and it is easy enough to tighten. The faucet has been in use in the only bathroom in the house for over a year, and it still shines up like brand new. Definitely worth every penny, and is as sturdy and attractive as faucets costing 2 to 3 times the price!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Falls apart in a year The bonnet nuts (under the faucet handle that holds the stem assembly in place) completely deteriorate within a year. One was cracked open the other was crumbling into powder. Lesson learned: You get what you pay for.

Like this so far bought it online a year ago just getting to install it had more problems removing the old one. This was easy to install and the connection drain nice. Like the finish and matches now with my bath tub ones.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Internal components CHEAP! This faucet looks nice but doesn't work well. I bought 3 and for a couple weeks they worked fine then the handles started squeaking and were extremely hard to turn on/off. I took them off and lubed them w/ food grade silicone - that worked for a couple weeks then the problem returned. I say spend your money on a better brand than American Standard.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice-looking, but a pain to install I'm trying to upgrade fixtures at a low cost to sell my house. These look very nice and seem to be of good quality for the price. However, the "speed connect" drain was a horrible pain! It never worked correctly on either sink. American Standard's manuals/specs aren't very helpful, so we gave up. I ended up replacing them with more expensive faucets.
