What’s the noise level on the tub ?

Asked by DR February 27, 2021

I'm not sure how to answer that question, I could measure the dB, but you probably don't want that. You know it is on, you can hear the motor but it is not overly loud, the biggest noise is the bubbles and water flow which is the way it should be. You are moving a lot of water so it's certainly not whisper quiet like an aquarium filter. One time a guest turned it on accidentally when there was no water in the tub, and came to tell me something in the bathroom was making a noise, but not a loud one, it was actually just a rather quiet vibration. So, in conclusion, the main source of sound is from the water sloshing about, which is what is expected.

An average bath is about 40 gallons, so if you plan to fill the tub using your tankless heater, at 2 gallons per minute, it would take you 20 minutes to fill the tub under ideal conditions (during which time your 105F water in the tub will be cooling down and result in a cold bath...). If you already have a tub and it fills to your liking, switching to the jet tub will work. Adding the inline heater would help you out if all you have is the inline heater to fill the tub with though. Personally, I would not use a small tankless heater with a tub. Not ideal at all. A question I have is the unit says it will heat to 105 given 67-degree water coming in. Water coming from underground pipes is usually about 55 degrees and if you live in a cold climate, can dip lower during winter. If the tankless unit provides a boost of 38 degrees, this puts your tub water, from the spigot, at 93F which is warm to wash your hands, but cold for a bath.

Amazing tub!!
You would love this tub, it’s powerful jets and mostly its hi depth thanks to a vertical overflow drain. Do yourself a favor and get the optional heater add-on for endless time of warm jets even during a snowy blizzard. Gave only 4 stars since the first tub I ordered was leaking and had to be replaced (easy process at the HD), so do yourself another favor and test-drive the tub in your parkway before installing..

great purchase
i’m a consumer who reads reviews and researched before i purchase. 1. my installer didn’t have a hard time installing it even though my bathroom is small. 2. we didn’t have any issues with leaking. everything was sealed like it should be. 3. it feels sturdy. 4 2 jets weren’t nearly as strong as the rest. then looking at the manual again, realized each individual jets strength is adjustable as well as the 2 knobs at the top. so user error. i wish that were easier to see in the instructions but totally overlooked that. i highly recommend this. economical price with wonderful quality. remember to use correct cleaning products with tub too.

Installers beware, not a 60 inch tub
This is a lovely tub, but please beware it is NOT 60 inches long, but 60 1/4. If you have a very specific space this matters greatly, I wish they had properly mentioned the size on the website.

Very nice
Our plumber installed this tub very easily. One problem, the water intake pump seal was not sealed properly and it was missing a screw on the cover so the tub was leaking. We called American Standard and service was set up. After quarantine from COVID service was done on the tub and everything works beautifully. The tub is quieter than I thought it would be and the jets are wonderful.

The access panel turns yellow after a few years. See attached image. I tried to bleach it and sand it down with 220 grit and nothing is working. Need a new one but cant find them online. Would be nice if manufacturers would just design things to last longer than the warranty.

We had actually ordered a tub through a competitor but because they kept delaying delivery we cancelled the order and purchased this tub instead. Boy are we glad we did! This tub is actually cheaper and has more jets! We purchased the optional heater with it and my husband said that was very easy to install since the tub has an easy remove access panel. My review might be oozing enthusiasm but that's because we had installed this tub in place of a circa 1970 tiny tub/shower combo unit. The original one (that we replaced) was just barely 14" deep so this new tub is immensely better! It's luxuriously deep! My father jokingly called it a lake. Often I don't even fill it 3/4 deep and still enjoy a good soak. The jets are AMAZING! 8 jets in total, two at your back, two on each side and two at your feet and they pack a punch if they are turned up to high! The lower ones on the side are perfect for your calves and I had no idea how great that felt! <3 I love this tub and thank my husband at least once a week for installing it! (and he installed it over two months ago!) Overall, it's a great price for an amazing tub. Highly recommended!

If it is not new construction, you will have to alter it to get it in... that or the studs... beyond that, once installed, you'll want the heater. It should already be installed, but it is an add on, as is the required deep drain. The drain should be included too... Jets/Air are easy and fully adjustable. The height is great for a 5' tub. Inside you lose a lot of the 5', so the water height is really great!! Have only used it once, but it is way more value than it costs with the deep drain and heater!! I don't know of another tub with a 21-1/2 inch water height... The drain cover is well designed and elegant. The pump motor is very quiet. I've had 2 other's in the past and this one is quieter and smoother running. Still not quite complete as trim is next weekend, but wanted to test it...so pic is what it is...

The tub installation was completed using green board, retiling of my walls, dry wall, painting and caulking, and more where my bathroom looked absolutely perfect again. Remarkle. However, when we turned on the water filled up the tub and used the jets, we noticed while looking through the panel the left jet was defective and water was gushing out of the blue pipe that is alongside of the actually American Standard EverClean bathtub. It stained my entire kitchen and water was dripping down my kitchen sockets as if I was taking a bath in my kitchen. I am extremely disappointed in the product. I am so upset because the cost of tub with installation wasn’t cheap. I’m hoping the pipe that come attached to the tub can be remedied or repaired without having to reinstall another tub. I couldn’t upload the video to capture the water gushing out. (Capacity too large)
