Are you asking how far is the tub drain is from the floor? If so, I will say that I don't remember for sure. Put my tubs in 3 1/2 years ago, but best guess is 2".

What is the difference between acrylic and cast iron tub’s. Which is the best

Asked by Lulu October 23, 2020
1
Answer

Lulu, A cast iron tub is very heavy compared to an Americast or Acrylic tub. An acrylic tub will retain heat from the temperature of your water as well as repel any mildew or general bathroom stains. As far as which one is the best, it is a personal preference. I personally have the acrylic style and feel that it is easier to clean than cast iron. For an undermount installation does the tub come with a template to make a top

Asked by Richard October 15, 2020

Answer

Hello, Thank you for reaching out to the American Standard Consumer Connection Team. There is not a template for determining the opening. You would use the tub itself as a reference. If there is anything we can assist you in the future, please feel free to contact us at 1-855-815-0004 Monday – Friday, 8AM – 7PM EST or Saturday 10AM – 4PM and an American Standard Consumer Connection Advisor will be happy to assist you.

what is the rough opening for the drop in tub?

I remember the 72x36 being fairly accurate. We installed the hardy backer and tile over the edge for a more finished look. This is really a huge 1 person tub. Lowe’s has a Laurel Mountain Farrell That we used on another remodel and prefer it as a true two person tub if you mount the fixture and tub spout in the center. Good Luck on your project!

Is the delivery date correct on this tub, late August? Like 90 days?

Answer

Joe, You would need to check with Home Depot regarding any availability. They would be able to check with our retail team. Sincerely, your American Standard Consumer Connection Team

Love the tub, it is very large and requires a special drain installation. Our contractor installed it and it did take longer to install than a standard tub. It’s worth the extra effort.

The plumber is saying he is not able to install the drain to the tub because the fiver glass in the overflow area is on an angle. He said If he would install the tub this way it would leak. I did order the drain that is suggested ( American Standard Deep Soak Drain). He is saying the tub is defective. I had to wait 8 weeks for the tub to get here. I am calling Home Depot to ask if they can exchange it since the area is tiled and ready. I hope I don't have to wait another 8 weeks for the tub to get here and another 4 weeks for the plumber to show up like the last time.

I love the tub, I did not realize how deep it was, I was more concerned about the reviews on the jets and did not pay attention to the other details of the tub. The jets are AWESOME. So powerful.

Definitely a large tub! Comfortable too!!
I reviewed several tubs before selecting this one. Happy with my decision, the tub is definitely large enough which was a top priority, the quality is very good, and there were no issues with the install. Be sure however to order the drain (American Standard 1-1/4 in. Deep Soak Max Drain). If you don't you'll be stuck when it comes to installing the tub... It allows the overflow to connect with the main left side drain.

Great price! Great Product!
We searched for an affordable 6" foot tub and found this. It looks great and installed easily. We read somewhere before our purchase that deck mount fill hardware were not recommended for this tub. We were able to find a deck mount tub fill that worked well. BUT, please note not all tub fills will fit this narrow lip, see pics.

love my BIG Tub
I can't comment on ease of installation because a Plummer installed it. But the tub is huge. Very roomy. Great price for someone that doesn't need all the bells and whistles of Jacuzzi tubs. We don't take bathes very often but when we do its nice to have the space to relax in . I'm 5'8" hubby is 6'3". We fit without any problems.

Over all we are happy but a giant ploblem occured when it never said it was a drop-in unit. It cost us 1500 more then our budget because of this. We wish it stated it somewhere.

Love the DEEP soaking capacity
My wife says it is her all time favorite tub and that is something since we have built or remodeled 8 homes over the years. While as a designer and builder I liked the clean lines that fit well in a contemporary or transitional bath.
