AnswersHello Ken, Your question is good and not unusual. You most likely have an obstruction in the "Hot water line somewhere between the shutoff value and the faucet hot water side. Check that delivery avenue. Nothing against a plumber, but as a DIYer, you can do this. But be sure to turn off the water at the hot water heater or the house incoming water.

This is a really nice faucet. The color goes well with our butcher block counter tops and contrasts well with our white cabinets. It is easy to install and takes a short amount of time - it’s no different than any other faucet install. It retracts easily due to the counter weight and the spritz setting works well too. We chose this because of the color and finish.

Reliable, quality faucet from trusted American Standard with updated, clean lines. I like the single lever for on/off and temperature control, as I can operate it with the back of my hand if my fingers are messy. The spout has a high arch with swivel, and sprayer pulls out to reach your entire sink and around any big items inside the sink. It is easy and convenient to switch between stream and spray. I chose matte black, as it has an updated Farmhouse / Industrial look and won't show fingerprints.

I like the matte black finish of the American Standard Fairbury single-handle pull-down sprayer kitchen faucet. I replaced a polished chrome faucet. The black finish does not seem to show the water stains like the chrome one did. Installation was not too bad. After connecting the hot and cold water lines the sprayer line snaps together. Placing the included weight on the spray line is needed to retract the sprayer. The spray head had two buttons. One is a rocker type that switches from normal flow to spray. The other is a button that will stop water flow. I find that to be a very convenient feature that most other faucets do not have. This is a very well made faucet and I recommend it to others.

I got this to replace a very old faucet in my kitchen. I love the black color. It makes a statement! I also love the functionality. It has a high arc and it swivels from side to side. It has the button to spray, stream or pause. It has a good, strong spray and it's very useful to just pull it down when needed in a smooth motion or pause the stream when rinsing dishes. It also comes with the plate to cover holes if needed. If you are on the fence, just get it! You will not regret it.

This American Standard Fairbury 2S Kitchen Sink Faucet is not only beautiful but very functional. The spray is streamlined so that it doesn't overspray the sink's boundaries and the flow of water is strong and consistent. Adjustment of the flow of water, from a drip to a full blast is very precise. The long reaching nozzle locks into place easily and the swivel motions of the faucet, the handle and the nozzle are exquisite, making everything you need to do at the kitchen sink so much more efficient. Installation was pretty easy if you look at the pictures in the booklet. To separate the spray hose, just slide the ring over to the other side (see photo) and then it will come apart easily. Just slide the ring back over when you install it to lock it in place. The weight that goes on the hose has a 'snap' to open and close it. I like this alot better than having screws to open and close it.
The satiny finish on this faucet is absolutely beautiful. The quality is excellent. The hoses are strong and sturdy as is the faucet itself. I love the easy but very secure movements of the working parts. I love that that the nozzle has a pause button. I love that it's scratch resistant and that this company backs their product with a lifetime warranty. What more could you ask for! Highly recommend!!

AMERICAN STANDARD FAIRBURY 2S SINGLE-HANDLE PULL-DOWN SPRAYER KITCHEN FAUCET IN MATTE BLACK: This is a solid faucet and is easy to install. Our kitchen sink had a lower spigot with a sprayer, but it was difficult to wash larger pots and pans and rinse them with it. This faucet has the height on it to clear the larger pots and pans. The hook up is very simple, the hot and the cold water lines and the sprayer hose. It took me about 30 minutes to uninstall the old faucet, cleanup the lime residue and install the new faucet. Our cabinets are black, and the walls above the sink is black, sounds gross, but actually turned out pretty nice... not goth at all.

Time for a new kitchen Faucet and I chose the American Standard Fairbury 2S Single-Handle Pull-Down Sprayer Kitchen Faucet with Matt Black Finish. The high arch and180 degree rotation provides good coverage for any double sink. It can be mounted in a single-hole sink, or a 3-hole configured sink with the included deck plate. The matt black finish is very rich looking and blends in well with all kitchen decors.
The base material of the faucet is brass and includes a ceramic disc valve for smooth action and drip free performance. The pull-down handle has a unique pivoting head which allows water to spray all parts of the sink without extending the hose. It easily changes from an aerated stream to a wide spray with the touch of a button. Long supply lines are also included that allows direct connection to the water valves.
The Fairbury 2S Single-Handle Pull-Down Sprayer Kitchen Faucet is both high quality and a very good value. It comes with a limited lifetime warranty to the original owner

This is my first American Standard faucet and got it because of the sharp style and matte black finish. The installation was very straight forward and everything was uneventful. If you follow the included directions you should successfully get this installed in about an hour. There are no special tools needed to install. Fit, finish and features are acceptable for the price of this faucet. I wasn't thrilled about the wand hose connector just being a piece of plastic that clips on so I hope it is sufficient to keep the two sections of hose connected. On the upside I appreciate the included braided supply lines versus PEX lines that are difficult to install. A nice feature not found on many faucets is a pause button that stops the water flow while rinsing dishes. Time will tell how long it lasts but with most of the major faucet manufacturers, American Standard comes with a lifetime warranty.

This is a very nice faucet which is packed well to protect agains damaged in shipping. They include all mounting hardware and a plate for multi-hole sinks. The supply line fittings are ⅜" compression. The faucet has two settings: spray and stream. One tip to installing pull-down faucets is to make sure there are no obstructions under the sink that will interfere with the line when the nozzle is returned to it's mount.
this faucet has a nice finish that should hold up for years.
