American Standard H2Option 2-piece Siphonic 1.6/1.0 GPF Dual Flush Elongated Toilet in White - No Seat, Seat Not Included is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 81.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressed I can't comment on the installation as we are remodeling and our contractor put the toilet in but so far it is amazing. I love the double flush feature! It doesn't keep much water in the bowl at all but it has a strong suction and honestly we rarely use the "big" flush, the 1/2 flush works just fine. We have only had it installed for about a month so it remains to be seen how it does longterm but right now I love my new toilet!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The water spray problem has not yet been corrected. I have to agree with the other reviewer and wonder if Quality Control never bothered to flush the unit during testing. I don't know if someone adds on to the length of the original spout with some airhose tubing such as the kind used in fish tanks if this would alleviate the problem. Luckily the lid keeps most of it it so don't remove the lid while the tank is refilling. Also unless you are long legged, I recommend that people stick with the 15-15.5 in high commodes. At 16.5 inches (plus the added height of the seat) I found my feet dangling (I"m 5'7") which will cause some nerve/muscle pain on the back of your thighs if you spend a couple of minutes sitting/waiting for Nature to take its course and things to happen. Right Height is not right height unless you are a basketball player. I didn't notice this in the store when I was comparing the difference in sizes but sure did when I moved into the "Full Usage Position". Which, unfortunately, was not until the unit had been fully installed and was undergoing final inspection under field conditons. To counteract this I'm making a small plywood step olatform and covering with carpeting to place in from of the unit. Since many households have children and small stature people I would advise against the taller thrones. Get the smaller toilet and subsequently purchase the raised commode seats if you need to have a taller perch. Other then that the unit went together well, with most gaskets holding with just fingertight pressure. No problems with the 2 flushes handling their respective loads. Because of the ease of instillation, and the material being moved as it should I gave 4-stars. I didn't deduct for my own mistake of buying the taller unit and for failing to pay attention to the prior reviewer's comments on the water spray problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well made, delivered promptly, plumber installed with ease This is a sleek toilet. The "throne" is a little high for those of us who are over 65. The tank is smaller than older models. Though it's not one of the slickest and latest designs from Toto, Kohler or Whitehaus. It is a great looking update of the standard 2-piece American Standard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from dual flush toilet This toilet is great. it replaces a Toto which was an expensive piece of junk. This new toilet uses minimum water, is quiet and works.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product has great features, and fits our need perfectly. Looks nice and neat; flushes things out completely even with less water than the one I had before (I never have to flush twice with this new one). Shipping is fast and as scheduled. I bought many items from HomeDepot.com and never had any problem that needed to contact its customer service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazingly effective flush! This toilet was our first installation of an ultra low-water flushing unit. I really like the dual-flush buttons, (like Europe and Japan) which allows us to use even less water when flushing just urine. The effectiveness of the flushing is nothing short of amazing! If you've been hesitant to make the switch because you fear inadequate flushes, wait no longer. Nothing but kudos for this one!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressive toilet This thing can flush anything! There is a video online of this toilet flushing golf balls.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Toilet I ever installed Toilet has the best flush I ever used, even the liquid flush easily flushes solids down. I use the solid button only during real heavy solid flushes. Installing the unit is very easy when you install the bowl by itself then install the tank. Remember to buy a repair ring just in case your flange is bad (HD has $5). I used 5/16 bolts bought at HD instead of the 1/4 bolts that come with the standard gasket. I also used the heavy wax gasket and Bemis ( 1201 slow ) removable toilet seat that fits perfect. By using the liquid flush (1 gal) I hope to save my cesspool from having more problems over the years.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Design defect I live in Arizona where the water is hard and I purchased two of these toilets in November 2011. In the past two years, I have had to replace the toilet valves a total of 5 times. Customer service is great and with a 10 year warranty on the toilet valves, they have sent one out about every 5 months. The problem is that the rubber seal on the bottom of the valve begins to separate and doesn't seal which leads to tank water slowly leaking to the refill point then it fills up again. When I mentioned this to American Std, they told me that they would continue sending valves out as long as it was still in warranty, but then I would have to purchase them. So I have another 8 year and another 20 replacements before I have to begin purchasing them myself. Although when the valves are working properly, they are wonderful but not great for saving water when they leak. I't a design defect. My brother-in-law also purchased water saving toilets at Costco two years ago and hasn't had any problem, but that wasn't an American Standard toilet.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible!!!! We have had our toilet for toilet for less than 6 months... I should have never let my husband install it because it has been nothing but issues. First, it sits a few inches from the wall and pokes out. We had pre-measured but it is still awkward. We paid over $200 and the seat is plastic, uncomortable and cheap. Since he had already put it in, we decided we could live with it... until now. The inside of the bowl is greyish black in areas. This is where the water flows, not where water stays in the bowl. It is like the bowl is discolored in patches (not because it is dirty) and the stains are in the actual vessels of the material. I called the company and they said the previous 5 cleaners that didn't work may be expected, but I should use CLR. Then, if that doesn't work, then I need to drain the toilet and soak it in vinegar and scrub it. The toilet that was there for 25 years before this one looked better than this one that we just got 6 months ago!! I shouldn't have to drain it and soak it in vinegar!! And, I agree that poop sticks every time my kids go in our bathroom- will never buy one again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hate this commode Bought two for my bathrooms and greatly reget it! The video show golf balls and chicken nuggets being flushed without problems but it should show sticky pastry slime being flushed because that is a whole different story! The problem for me is this : when #2 hits the commode it gets stck to the bowl ABOVE the water line. Then when you flush most of #2 goes down but there is still a streak of stool above the water line that the flush is not powerful enough to clean off! After 6 flushes the stool is still there and EVERY Time someone has #2 in my house it requires me to get a toilet brush and clean the bowl! EVERY TIME! I HATE this commode!! Next time American standard tests their toilets the need to use real human waste and not golf balls and chicken nuggets! Do not buy this commode unless your an OCD clean freak that's wants to scrub the commode 6 times a day!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works very well as advertised Two features convinced me: the water saving option for liquid-only flushing, and the Youtube demonstration video showing all manner of--shall we say--appropriate substitutes being flushed with ease. We have been using it for a few weeks and it is far better than the high-end designer toilet we had before. It is comfortable and quite good looking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really like this toilet a lot. We've been remodeling out kitchen and bathrooms over the past year - 4 bathrooms, that is. The first two got American Standard Champion toilets, which we really like a lot. But then those were out of stock when we got to the 3rd remodel, so we got the H2Option. Now this one I love. The choice button thingie is cool, helps you save water and only use what you need to use. Despite the low water usage, flushing is decisive and only rarely is there any stool left on the side of the bowl (it does happen, sometimes, though, unlike the Champion model, where it never happens). The H2Option is compact and looks modern and sleek, and really fits nicely into an upgrade/updating of a bathroom. We like it a lot and are going to install another H2Option in our final, 4th bathroom remodel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Narrow footprint, excellent function We chose this model because it was the narrowest 'water sense' for a tight space. It looks great and works so well on the "low" mode that I've never felt the need to use the 'full' mode in three years of use. I didn't install it myself but our handy man had no complaints. The seat is a 'cheap plastic' but works well enough that we have not felt the need to upgrade. We'll buy the same model for our second bathroom.
Date published: 2013-05-26
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Premium toilet for a value price. As others have mentioned, there's no wax seal and bolts ($5), and no seat (so you can choose the one you want), but who cares? This is a great quality product that takes more time to remove from the boxes than it does to install. Flushes assertively, even on the 1 GPF setting. Don't listen to the haters . . . this is a great toilet.
Date published: 2012-11-20
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Absolutely excellent no tools needed, I have no experience in installing this toilet and I took its advertise no tools needed to install and I just follow the instruction and I was surprised it works properly with excellent flushing, no leeks and so easy to install. I highly recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doubly Flushed The two button flush on this toilet, one for solid waste and one for just liquid, saves tons of water. It's a great idea. The toilet is attractive and it's a high value item.
Date published: 2013-06-19
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing toilet It's amazing how little water this toilet uses to flush. It's nice looking and quite effective. I installed it myself and didn't have a problem with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great buy Love the style and fact they use less water with the dual flush feature
Date published: 2012-01-10
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This guy works despite using little water. This replaced a 1978 round toilet. Quality - it's a toilet, what do you expect? It had a slight mfg defect (a small chip on back corner of tank) that was quickly taken care of by the local store. Since I had to purchase the standard height online, I wasn't sure they would, but they did. Value - Since I wanted the standard height and not the chair height (too tall for shorter wife, even this one was taller than the old) I had to pay a premium and order on line. Watch the extra $50 charge for shipping to home. It comes faster, but I barely caught the extra charge before hitting buy. I also purchased while on sale and got the water rebate. Installation - just like any other toilet. I did replace the fill valve before install with the super quiet one. When I was testing the flushing, my wife didn't even know I was doing it. The fact that it hasn't plugged up in the first few weeks is amazing. It seems to be the amount of TP used that dictates the full flush requirement. The 1 gallon flush works fine for a smaller amount of solids. That is what dictated the Excellent Rating - it works.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better then expected After reading what others had to say, I took the plunge and made the purchase. Never thought I'd be geek'ed out about a toilet, but I am. Love the duel flush. Works extremely well in all conditions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely Happy I have put in 4 of the handicap height toilets (2 for the in-laws) and one of the standard height toilet in our house and the in-laws house. The two toilets at the in-laws have been in for at least two years and have worked great. Easy installation, the only glitch was one toilet came with a melted/mangled wax ring which Home Depot gave me an extra thick ring from stock, no question asked.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality product and even worse Customer Service Manufacturing quality is poor with loose chips under the glaze inside the tank making it doubtful that the tank is watertight. Loose parts were laying inside the tank when I opened the box. Installation manual was not representative of the product and the dual flush option makes this model very complicated with three float adjustments. Called American Standard customer support to get some help in figuring out how to proceed. They were not knowledgeable about the product and were very rude, hanging up on me. Let me say that I am no rookie and have installed over a dozen toilets previously. Not worth the effort to install just to see if it is going to work, so will return it to the store. Very disappointed in this American Standard product and plan to avoid this brand in the future.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Quality control please! I bought two of these. One works great but other one had a leakage problem around the bolt rubber. After numerous attempts of adjusting it, Problem was not solved. Later noticed the a hair line crack on the tank. I called to report this issue and now homedepot is sending me a complete new tank. It's such a hassle but I have to say the homedepot customer care was nice and quick.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Reasonable priced and performed well. I like the two flushing option ... worked great as advertised.
Date published: 2015-02-05
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works better than expected Was inspired by travel to Europe where dual flush toilets are more common. This works better than any we found there and much better than neighbor's water conserving toilets.. Easy to install and needed no adjustments. Be aware though, inspect the flush mechanism in the tank before taking it home...there were plastic parts that were broken due to rough handling so I had to have it reordered. Ordered it online and picked up at the store...the site said six week delivery time but both times it came within a week.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light duty flush usually good enough! Great toilet, easy to clean, and 8 of 10 usages the 1.0G flush is sufficient to clear the bowl. I won't get into details (we all know what we're talking about) but you only need the 1.6G flush very rarely - at least that was true for us. That being the case the water efficiency was even greater than expected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great product The H2Option Siphonic toilet looks great and works great. It takes up less space than my previous toilet, and I really like using the buttons rather than the handle to flush. The only negative is that it did not come with a toilet seat; that had to be purchased separately.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome toilet ! I love this toilet! Looks great, performs well so far, it's not loud when flushing, definitely saves more water usage. A little upset that it does not come with a toilet seat but went to home depot and bought one. Other than that, Worth the money what we spent.
