To keep from damaging the porcelain is important to use low or non abrasive cleaners. I just asked the wife and she cleans it with a multipurpose spray (non abrasive) cleaner and it works fine. The problem with abrasive cleaners is that eventually the surface of the porcelain will lose its luster and become more and more difficult to clean.
The tub is pressed into shape then the enamel is baked on. Once this process is complete a heavy polyester backing is injected on the back side of the tub insulating it and adding strength.
Dan, if you scroll down to the Info & Guides section you will find the installation instructions which have all the listed dimensions included. Sincerely American Standard Technical Team.
The 17" version is considered "above floor rough in" which means the bottom of the tub is 3.5 inches off the subfloor.
Yes. The plumbers were happy to see that because it makes the installation much easier.
The soaking depth (distance from the bottom of the overflow to the drain) is approximately 9 inches.
Length 60" and width 30" is the dimension of the basin.
The dimensions at the sump are 42" x 19" and the interior basin dimensions at the rim are 56" x 25".
The height difference is because the insulation underneath is thicker. The soaking depth is the same so the number of gallons it holds will also be the same.
The backrest angle is approximately 30°.
