Tub size
Nice tub, but smaller than expected. You lose a lot of length with the sloped back. Narrower than expected too. Overall seems to be a good quality and it’s one of the only few out there, low enough to step in and out safely.

Bathtub is not white and had a flaw in finish
The bathtub is NOT white so that was my first disappointment. It looks more beige. The second disappointment was the small flaw in the finish of the bathtub on the top right-hand side. There is a tiny black dot where there is no enamel. Because of COVID19, I had to shop online and rely on the pictures. The picture shown of the bathtub was not the actual colour. Do not recommend you buy this product unless you can actually see it.

Soon as this one was installed noticed a indention right in the very front in the middle! Refuse to take tub out since I already paid to have it installed. Having to spend more money to have the slate being used on the wall to extend across the front of tub to cover dent. The 1st one I got had the enamel chipped off the corner. Both tubs were not in store purchases. The store nearest me did not have this tub. Other than that I really like the tub.

Used this to replace a one piece fiberglass unit in a rental bathroom. The new tub seems to be very durable, even when I accidently dropped a drill, and a hammer into it. Not a single scratch. Installation was easy and straight forward. There is included directions on how to install, just follow them and it will work out perfectly. The drain and overflow holes matched up perfectly to the old tub. Finished the surround with backer board and affordable tile, and the end result looked too good for a rental house!

My tub came poorly painted and you can see the black primer under the white top coat and it’s very noticeable in places. Unfortunately installed it anyway and regret it deeply. Ruined my new bathroom.

      Drain kit does not fit
Just wanted to have this tub installed by a licensed plumber, but the regular drain kit does not fit. The Americast material is thicker than a regular tub, so the 1 1/2 inch threat on the drain is too short.. Cannot find a longer or more specific drain kit online. May have to buy another tub and waste over $ 600???

Hello Andre, I would suggest to contact our Consumer Connections Department either by phone (Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm EST) @ 1-855-836-9615 or by sending pictures of what you are experiencing through our website's Contact Us Page so we can review what you are dealing with. This tub is no different from any other and should be compatible with any 1-1/2" Drain set. AmericanStandard
        Disappointed
Looks nice and seemed solid, but within a couple months the metal on the bottom of the tub separated from the foam and created an area that moves and flexes. I imagine that will lead to premature failure of the porcelain coating.

Very nice product. Very happy with the finish. The none slip is great. Had a chip on the edge but covered with the tile. A little more care in packaging and shipping would have prevented it. Very happy with this tub!

We just had our bathroom remodeled and as we were getting estimates, the contractor that we ended up using, James Hindel of Ideal Renovations Md, suggested getting a new bathtub. The one we had was the original and we hadn't noticed but it was showing it's age. We shopped around and ended up buying American Standard Princeton 60 in. Right Hand Drain Rectangular Alcove Bathtub in White from Home Depot. What a difference. We are glad we got this tub, it looks great.

I purchased this item as part of a bathroom renovation. The concept of having an enamel tub that looks like porcelain without the weight of a cast iron tub was intriguing. However, the quality of this item is poor at best. When I opened the box, the tub already had chips in the enamel along several of the outside edges. Even though this would have likely been covered up by the tile work we were going to put around the tub, I had reservations. If the tub is chipping while it's brand new, what might it look like after some use. I wasn't willing to run that risk, so the tub will be going back to Home Depot. American Standard really needs to step up their game and improve their product quality. Their past reputation and brand name is not going to carry them much longer versus their competition if they continue on this path. I'm going to purchase an acrylic tub instead from another company.

Very Good tub for small spaces
I purchased this tub one year ago for a bathroom update. It fit the (small) space perfectly and went in with little trouble. I've had no problem with "chipping" the finish. My only comment is that I think the "grit" on the tub floor should be grittier. It's not slick, but it's not much of a tread. Also, water could drain faster, but that's not a problem. Perfect tub for low threshold and small- to medium-sized people. I didn't purchase it because of the cost, but low cost is a real bonus.

This is an unpacking report on the American Standard Princeton series steel bathtub. I read so many negative reports about bathtubs that I felt obliged to chime with my experience, so far. We are replacing our harvest gold tub from the 1970s, as part of our bathroom remodel. That tub is porcelain/steel and that is what we wanted to replace it with. Our concern was that current tubs were not of the same quality as our 1970s tub. My side by side comparison could find no differences between the two tubs. The drains hole is at the same level. Slope of the back is the same, as is its height and width. Also, the gauge of the metal appears to be the same. The tub arrived in perfect condition. There were no chips or cracks in the porcelain and the overall quality of the porcelain appears to be good. We were agonizing about potential pitfalls of replacing our tub but feel much better now that we had a good look at this new tub. Oh yea. The harvest gold went out of style shortly after we purchased our house. We had the tub sprayed white, which has held up well for over 30-years.
