I have the Model #: 2391202ICH.020 tub (below floor rough-in). One Install guide tells me to NOT use bedding material under the tub, the other tells me I can use it. So which is it? The floor will be nice and level.

Asked by Pazure February 9, 2021

Answer

Pazure, We do recommend using mortar on a below floor rough in. Sincerely, your American Standard Consumer Connection Team

Greetings, Can I purchase a separate brushed/satin nickel drain and overflow for this tub? Most responses I found state that Chrome is the only option. There was mention of a part number 791474-2950A but wasn't sure if that is still available.

Asked by Danman9 January 26, 2021

Answer

Danman9, There are actually two drains you can choose from. The first one is a deep soak drain which will allow an extra 2" of water and that part number is 1640305.295 and the second is a universal drain and that part number is 1583470.295. We do have both of them in stock if you would like to order through us by calling 800-442-1902 or you could also order online under google search. Sincerely, your American Standard Consumer Connection Team

Do the anti-slip pads in the bottom of the tub get dirty? Are they hard to clean? I’m picturing teenagers.

Asked by Carrieo November 25, 2020

Answer

Hello, Thank you for reaching out to the American Standard Consumer Connection Team. The slip resistant areas can accumulate dirt easier since they are not smooth, but normal cleaning products can be used to remove any build up. If there is anything we can assist you in the future, please feel free to contact us at 1-855-815-0004 Monday – Friday, 8AM – 7PM EST or Saturday 10AM – 4PM and an American Standard Consumer Connection Advisor will be happy to assist you.

I just received this tub today and am very disappointed at the quality of the oval overflow drain. It is so cheap that it looks like it came out of a bubble gum machine! No websites have oval ones. Am Standard doesn't even have better ones. Suggestions?

Asked by Carol C October 6, 2020

Answer

Carol C, Good Morning! It sounds like you purchased the Princeton model and I am very sorry but there is no other drain that will work with that model. Sincerely, your American Standard Consumer Connection Team

Can you install glass shower doors to Americast tubs?

Asked by dayside July 7, 2020
1
Answer

dayside, Yes as long as you drill no holes in the tub. Our shower doors can be used but I don't know about any other manufacturers. Sincerely, your American Standard Consumer Connection Team

What is the difference between this tub and model number 2390202.011 that justifies the additional $56.00 cost?

Asked by mama of girls June 7, 2020
1
Answer

mama of girls, It looks as though the difference is due to the fact that the 2390202.011 does not have the built in overflow. Sincerely, your American Standard Consumer Connection Team

I previously asked this question and received a really stupid answer. My question relates to how easy is it to remove long hair from the stopper and drain assembly that according to the installation instructions comes with the tub?

Asked by mama of girls June 7, 2020
1
Answer

mama of girls, To remove the stopper lift it approximately half way then turn counterclockwise. The stopper cap will turn off the shaft and then the hair can be removed. Sincerely, your American Standard Consumer Connection Team

Have a question about the drain. We have a lot of girls in our household with long hair. How do you clean hair out of the drain?

Asked by mama of girls June 4, 2020
1
Answer

mama of girls, It would be dependent on which drain you have. . Please contact us directly through the American Standard website “Contact Us” located at the bottom of our home page. One of our reps will be able to help you with this. Sincerely, your American Standard Consumer Connection Team

Answer

ambitious, Arctic white is a much brighter white. Sincerely, our American Standard Consumer Connection Team

The Princeton model 2393202 ICH.020 states it has a built-in overflow drain. It looks like it is chrome. Is it possible to remove & install a gold tone overflow drain??  My bathroom new fixtures are not silver tones.

Asked by Liz75 February 9, 2020
1
Answer

Thank you for inquiring about American Standard products. The drain on the ICH version of the Americast Princeton tubs is only available in chrome. The same tub is available without the integral drain, please see tub model 2393202.020. Any standard bath drain should adapt to this version of the tub.

Our plumber installed this bathtub for us about one year ago. It has been an excellent bathtub for us. I believe it is insulated to keep the water warmer longer and to also cut down on noise of water going into to bathtub. Both features are performing well. There is a non-slip surface to the bottom of the tub that is also working out well for us. I like that there is a lot of flat area to stand in when taking a shower (doesn't slope too much near the sides.) We are very happy with this bathtub.

Nice tub, so long as you're very careful and thorough.
Nice tub, easy to lift and maneuver. We installed this tub on the outside wall of a Northern-New England home and it is always nice and warm in the morning. It seems much better insulated than the fiberglass tub we replaced. We were careful to follow instructions and, after reading many other accounts, decided to install this tub over a bed of Quickrete Sand and Topping Mix, mixed with their acrylic fortifier. The tub is rock-solid and does not move or creak. My only complaint is that the apron of the tub is braced with molded foam struts. I made the mistake of grabbing one during the installation and heard an immediate crack. I wish these struts were better reinforced or made of a different material, but that has been my only issue. We've had this tub installed for 2 months and would not hesitate to use another.

Good value for the money. Steel tub I don’t worry about cracking like fiberglass or acrylic. Inspect tub upon arrival. A small chip in the foam like “insulation” under the tub right in the circle where the tailpiece slip through to connect to the drain….this leak was fixed with some 100% silicone.
