How long does the water stay warm compared to cast iron?

Asked by ASH1 November 13, 2020
1
Answer

ASH1, Americast acts as an insulator and will retain heat in water longer than cast iron and enamel steel. Cast iron is a conductor of heat, and therefore draws heat out of the water. With Americast the fixture is warm to the touch and bath water remains warmer longer allowing for warm relaxing baths. Sincerely, your American Standard Consumer Connection Team

What is the difference between the Princeton tub models 2392.202 and 2393.202?

Asked by Jayy September 1, 2016
1
Answer

The 2392.202 tub has a right hand drain and the 2392.202 has a left hand drain.

Looking at 2393.202, can you clarify the drawing? I understand 435mm to be rough floor to top of support stringer and 64mm the distance from the top of the tub to the centreline of the overflow drain.  What is the dimension for 23mm, 349mm and 445mm?

Asked by RexH November 25, 2015

Answer

All the images we have is what is on the website as well as the spec sheet.

I am evaluating American Standard model 2392.202.020 for my bathroom renovation. My plumber has advised me to get the insulated model, but I do not see that on the spec sheet. How do I find the insulated model?

Asked by RexH November 25, 2015
1
Answer

Our Americast models are not insulated, we would recommend you contacting our Acrylic dept at 1-800-442-1902 for information about their insulated tubs.

how do I clean the "amercast finish" on the tub for a home I just bought?

Asked by macs August 13, 2015
1
Answer

You will just want to use a soft cloth, warm water and a mild dishwashing liquid such as Dawn or Palmolive. For tougher stains you can use a heavy duty liquid laundry detergent. The main thing is to not use anything with abrasives such as Soft Scrub, Scrubbing Bubbles or Bleach.

Current Princeton installation instructions indicate bedding material is acceptable below the base of the tub.  What type of bedding material do you recommend? Standard mortar? other?

Asked by DanW September 2, 2014

Answer

Mortar is fine.

Looking to buy a sliding door enclosure for American Standard 2393.202.020 Princeton tub. Considering this tub is made from a new material what type of shower door do you recommend?

Asked by Nate1372 September 4, 2013
1
Answer

You can use any standard tub/shower door as long as the installation does not require you to drill into the tub's ledge. The Americast material is strong and durable and will have no problem supporting a heavy glass door. Our models that would fit this tub are AM00350, AM00750, AM00758. Different glass and finish options are available.

Is the spec correct that dept to overflow is 9 1/2" for the Princeton? The Cambridge is 13 5/8" and its total height is about the same as the Princeton. I'm looking for a soaking tub, 5' X 30" Americast... thanks

Asked by Bob February 28, 2013

Answer

The spec sheet is correct.

Lightweight and durable
Bought this 9 months ago and has been trouble free.

Easy to clean
I thought when I got the tub it would of been sterdier when I in it ,not as strong as old one, slippery when wet, when getting out, and the outer ledge not wide as I would of liked it, other than that it`s fine.

Ideal Classic Tub for Small Space
Years ago we bought our first Princeton tub influenced by its lighter weight and unique finish. Since then we've moved and remodeled our new bathroom with the same tub. Both have held up well.
