Hi, Although our new construction specs allow for a 72" bath, they are too high for me to lift my leg into. Therefore, I am looking for a tub height of 16 or 17" or so for soaking. ( not a shower combo). Do you have hydrotherapy options in any rectang

The shortest soaking tub that American Standard produces is the Cadet 2773. This tub is 19.75" tall.

I can't seem to find any 54" alcove cast iron tubs?

We no longer manufacture a tub smaller than 60".

Is there a tub surround available for a 34" deep tub? I want to make it a tub/shower combo. If so model, part #s & distributor would be appreciated.

No, it is considered an Americast tub which is half the weight of a cast iron tub.

can the americast tub be cleaned with Comet?

Asked by ohforpetessake June 30, 2013

Answer

Comet and other abrasive cleaners are not recommended as they can scratch and damage the finish. Try using products such as CLR, Lysol Bathroom Cleaner, Bon Ami, Mr Clean All Purpose cleaner, and other mild products with a soft nylon brush or rag.

I am looking for a cast iron bathtub

Asked by Maria January 22, 2012

Answer

Ufortunately American Standard does not offer a cast iron tub with these dimensions. You may want to consider the Cambridge model 2461.

The princeton with above-floor-rough-in would be perfect for me, but the soaking depth seems really low at 9.5". Not clear to me if deep-soak technology adds an additional 2" to this, and how?

Asked by September 24, 2011

Answer

This particular model does not have a deep soak option. However, the 2390202 or the 2391.202 does. The extra 2" of water is acheived by raising the height of the overflow escutcheon.

Incorrect dimensions listed
When selecting a tub, go to the American Standard site and download the actual spec sheet for the tubs you are comparing. The only difference between a 30" tub and a 34" tub is the width of the flange on the back of the tub. The "Bathing Well Dimensions" are the same. If you think you are getting a larger tub, you are not. The rating is for Home Depots poor description and dimensions. Great improvement over stamped metal tubs with the integral overflow and composite backing on the steel tub.

Leaks at overflow
These tubs fail very early in thier life and begin to leak at the built-in overflow, the overflow is just fiberglass attached to the steel tub and crack and separate after minimual use, would not recomend this product
