My problem is: when someone pushes the handle too hard in turning off the water, twice now (fixed once by installer) it has slipped past the point where it is square with the base. Is this a faulty part? How can I fix it now without a plumber?

In remodelling our bathroom, we selected your Townsend Widespread Lavatory Faucet #7353.841, not noting that it has a reduced flow, which we now find far too slow. Is there a fix, such as swapping in a different aerator or cartridges?

Asked by Oldeco72 March 20, 2019

Answer

I am sorry but we do not have another aerator to use with this model.

Can this faucet be used on a Roman tub deck?

Asked by Renee1 August 4, 2018

Answer

No, this would not work as it would not produce enough water volume to fill the tub quickly. - American Standard Tech Team

I have a pedestal sink with 1 1/4" deck holes (versus 1 3/8"). What size is this faucet?

Asked by jnp May 15, 2017

Answer

This uses 1-1/16 for the holes.

Does this include the trim and valve or do I need to purchase separately. Thanks

Pretty, isn't? Too bad it doesn't work! I had a plumber try to install this 2 weeks ago and he couldn't get the cold water to stop dripping so he had to turn of the water to the faucet. He thought it was a faulty cartridge and it took 2 weeks to get the new part. (I purchased this through the plumber so I didn't have to deal with American Standard directly). He installed the new cartridge today and it still didn't work so he thinks it's another part that's broken. So now I guess I have to wait another couple weeks for the new part to arrive. This is very frustrating since this is part of a major bathroom remodel where we completely gutted the bath and everything is finished now except this stupid faucet. I'm lucky I guess that the plumber noticed the drip or my new vanity would have been ruined. Will never buy anything from American Standard again.

The Townsend faucet by American Standard is a high quality faucet. This thing is solid and heavy and the legacy bronze finish is beautiful. You can feel the quality of construction when using it. Installation was easy, it uses 3/8 inch compression fittings so make sure your angle stops are 3/8 or you get reducers. I installed 2 of these in our kids bathroom a month ago and with 4 kids these faucets get a ton of daily use. I expect to get many years out of these faucets.

High quality faucet
This faucet is very heavy. It's made mostly of metal, including the threads to tighten it to the sink. It's just a little more complicated than a typical 4 inch center set with 3 holes since you have to do each one separately. The box was very heavy which gave me a great first impression. I'm not a big fan of attached water supply lines since these faucets will last 10-15 years, but it's good practice to change out supply lines every 5-7 years. I'm also not a huge fan of the pop up. AS uses cable pop ups now, and it will be hard to replace in the future unless it becomes the standard. It is fast to flip if you do use the pop up, though. My water supply line came very crimped, so I hesitated to use it. So far it's ok, but I can't see if the rubber inside was compromised. Definitely a good looking faucet. Just wish they packed it better.

Great quality and design!
From the moment I opened the box I was in love this faucet. It has a quality finish and quality parts that makes this a great buy. The faucet looks to be very durable and made to compliment a modern or traditional style bathroom. The faucet is ADA compliant. The instructions were very clear and it was very easy to install. I cant wait to install the faucet in my master bath.

Oil Rubbed bronze faucet
Great quality bronze faucet. Very dark bronze color. When installing, the cold/hot handles didn't align correctly and had to adjust from underneath the sink. A little cumbersome but finally aligned them! Faucet has an 8" spread so make sure you get a counter with the correct pre-drilled holes. This set comes with all parts needed for installation and are all great quality. See pics for more detail of the darker bronze color.

beautiul polished nickel--loose threads,
I have 4 sets. Over time faucets have lost ability to stop / turn at correct point, does not remain square with design--parallel to sink backsplash. Now a few faucets turn back too far, looks awful. Takes away from beauty. I would recommend buying round faucet turn handles

I wanted something sturdy with a slightly longer faucet AND came with all hoses & pieces needed for installation. It looks great installed and the faucet extends enough for me to lean over and drink from it. I like that the left & right handles turn high away from the base. My contractor said it was easy to install.

This faucet set looks sooo much better in person on the vanity then it does in the box. It was so easy to install and does not hold stains like many other faucets out there. It has clean lines and matches with almost any decor with polished nickel accents. I would highly recommend this to anyone that is looking for a faucet that is affordable yet stylish.
