I have a Symphony 4501 facets that is leaking. I'd like to replace the guts of the facet. Do you have one part number that combines 023529-0070A, M9611854-0070A, and M952100-0070A all in one unit or do I need to purchase as separate units and assemble?

Is there a higher quality replacement part for M952100-0070A? 3 new installed in new home January 2019. Replaced 1 April 2020 and it went bad again. All increasingly restrict pressure

Answer

Hello, Thank you for reaching out to the American Standard Consumer Connection Team. Water conditions ultimately determine how long parts may last. There is not an alternative part for the M952100-0070A pressure balance unit. We would suggest you replace the cartridge at the same time, and always replace them at the same time. If there is anything we can assist you in the future, please feel free to contact us at 1-855-815-0004 Monday – Friday, 8AM – 7PM EST or Saturday 10AM – 4PM and an American Standard Consumer Connection Advisor will be happy to assist you.

Ordered this part but I have 4 screws from the PBU to the wall valve. This and 051091-0070A both have 3 screws. Ordered the M961854-0070A plate to match the pbu. What PBU do I order for 4 screws?

Answer

4screws, Good Morning! . Please contact us directly through the American Standard website “Contact Us” located at the bottom of our home page. If you could attach a picture of the overall faucet we will be able to identify it for you and provide you with the correct pbu number. Sincerely, your American Standard Consumer Connection Team

Using a single control tub/shower valve, cold water is feeding back into the hot water system. I suspect the pressure balance unit but this fixture is new. Could I be right? Could I tell if something is wrong by visual inspection/disassembly?

Asked by Ainsworth December 27, 2019

Answer

The pressure balance unit or cartridge is the only thing that could cause this. Remember when sweating the lines you need to remove the internal parts of the valve to prevent issues. Your American Standard Consumer Connections Team.

I have an AS single hand shower faucet, my issue is that only warm water comes out, as if the cold water doesn't exist, i turn it all the way to cold and the water is too warm, i live in SE Texas, should i replace the pressure balance cartridge?

Asked by ACano September 13, 2019

Answer

ACano, I would start with replacing the cartridge itself. You can almost flush those out to see if that may help. Sincerely, your American Standard Consumer Connection Team

The pressure balance unit that has the metal spacer in front of it is definitely an older model. The part number is 077171-0070A for the pressure balance unit. You may want to call into American Standard directly and we can further assist you with additional part numbers you may need. Your American Standard Consumer Connections Team.

Are there different sizes of the M952100-0070A? I have an older, 20 years, single handle shower. After checking out the installation the pressure balance unit appears to be larger. Or, is it just the brass ring that makes up the difference?

Edro, please contact us directly through the American Standard website "Contact Us" located at the bottom of our home page so we can assist you in determining your model number and the correct parts. Sincerely, your American Standard Consumer Connections Team.

Wrong unit. My bad, couldn't tell what I needed without turning off water, and taking plumbing apart. Not fault of Home Depot. Excellent service on their part.
