I have used it for a grill but I just put the rack right over the heat coil on.bottom
For the electric smoker the maximum temperature is 250 degrees. Slow and low is the key for successful smoking. If you are using charcoal please follow the owners manual guide lines, on the recommended amount of charcoal to use. Also you can adjust the slide vents on the smoker, as well to help get the desired temperature.
Lucky if you can get it up to 225... and you'll need to buy a thermometer to know you got there. It is a piece of crap.
None of our grills are designed to be used with lava rocks and we do not recommend using with them.
I dont use charcoal for electric however, wood is what I use but I do NOT let the wood touch the element.
remove for charcoal, but you can put wood chips in the bottom with the electric element in place
Mine is 6'. I'm not an electrician but a min of 12 AWG, up 25' would work.
