Product Details

FLEX-Drain helps you get the job done faster and easier, with professional grade durability and more versatility than traditional corrugated pipe. Flexible and expandable, FLEX-Drain easily bends around any obstacle, holds its shape during installation and with a simple snap, its integrated soil-tight fittings lock securely and stay connected during backfilling. Taping joints is unnecessary. This Perforated FLEX-Drain with sock is 25 ft. long. The pipe has spaced slits, covered by a removable polyester sock. It's also perfect for applications such as French drains or dispersing water from flower beds, but works even better in locations where surrounding soil or sand is fine and requires filtration or where debris is considerable.
  • Proprietary peak and valley design offers greater surface area and a 30% higher load-bearing rating than standard corrugated pipe
  • Easy to install and transport
  • Perfect for tight spaces and curvy places
  • Fittings available to adapt to 3 or 4 in. corrugated pipe and 4 in. PVC
  • Perforated pipe with sock is ideal for french drain application in fine soil
  • Taping joints is not necessary

Q:What is the point of having a perforated drain pipe WITH A SOCK if I have to use gravel anyway? Why not just a regular perforated drain pipe without a sock?

Answer This Question

A:  The sock keeps the smaller particles from getting into pipe. You will get build up over time.

Q:Can I, and if so, how can I connect 4" Copolymer Perforated Drain Pipe to a standard 4" PVC drain run to a settling pond? Essentially I will need to cut into an existing 4" PVC line and using some kind of a T connect a short French drain installation.

A:  The product is designed to fit inside the 4" Pvc pipe. We also have a TY connection available.

A:  You might try using either Gorilla Waterproof Patch & Seal Tape 4 in. X 10 ft. or FLEX SEAL Flex Tape Black 4 in. x 5 ft. Strong Rubberized Waterproof Tape. Put one layer where the two meet, and then overlap another layer on the top and bottom edges of the first layer. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Gorilla-4-in-x-10-ft-Waterproof-Patch-and-Seal-Tape-in-Black-4612502/306379572 https://www.homedepot.com/p/FLEX-SEAL-FAMILY-OF-PRODUCTS-Flex-Tape-Black-4-in-x-5-ft-Strong-Rubberized-Waterproof-Tape-TFSBLKR0405/302634866

Q:small concrete patio runoff i dug a trench say 6in deep 25ft yard slope down Do i need gravel (red clay soil) for a small amount of rain runoff? Is it overkill to make deeper hole with inches of gravel, yes i know it helps. I add fabric wrap

A:  I dug my own French drain and used this as the final run into the woods. I don't see a issue with it, I used the bigger Styrofoam covered pipe for the main drain. I found it easy to connect and works well for my drainage issues.

          by|Mar 23, 2022

A:  The gravel will block dirt from clogging the fabric. If you put red clay soil on top of pipe i do not think it will drain properly.

A:  Yes, but lay the hose in first, then cover well with pea gravel - HD or WM have it. DON"T put the rock down first or it will never pick up the water. Good Luck.

Needed to extend my new 100' drain tile so I ordered this 50' with sock. It is a much liter weight and I stretched the sock several times as much as I could and it was still about 10' to short. The tile came out of the box crushed in one of the folds and could not be completely restored. I purchased more sock material and It looks like it will work. If I had it to do over I would purchase the 100' roll because it is much better quality.

Sock not as long as pipe. The reason I purchased this pipe is because it has a sock surrounding it, then I find when the pipe is expanded, the sock was no way near as long as the pipe. I would not purchase this again.

Overall a good product at first glance. My only complaint is that the sleeve doesn’t cover all 50 feet once it’s stretched out. Not by like 40%.

Hose is not very sturdy (easily crushed) and the sock only extended over the first 25 feet...the remaining 25 feet did not have a cover so had to improvise. It was also very hard to stretch out the hose from the closed/accordion state. It definitely took two people to extend it and try to stretch the cover

Installed this for a simple French drain in a low spot in our backyard. Some reviews state it’s flimsy, I found it to just right for the job.

This pipe is very reasonable, but it is terribly thin and compresses easily. OK for a French Drain sys5em, but you must be careful when backfilling or you will squash it in important places.
