Questions & Answers

Does the Snap-in feature works on seamless gutters ??

Asked by jacob April 12, 2021

Yes it snaps to front lip of gutter.

Help, when installed, do i curve it up or down??

Asked by Steve March 26, 2021

Curve it up, so the water runs off.

Why are these guards advertised to fit Amerimax Vinyl K style gutters? The Amerimax Vinyl K style...

Asked by Lucas February 3, 2021

I agree, it does not fit the 'K" style and it is frustrating when I had to double check to see if I really knew what 'K' style was. Anyway, I ended up using them. I tucked the flat end up under the shingles as most go in. I then found that the the forward end that should snap into the 'K" gutter still fit snug between the gutter nails and the inside lip of the gutter. Being plastic and easy to trim, it was easy to have a 3" overlap. Several storms later it's all still there and sheds the leaves perfectly! This is false advertising but the fact it's inexpensive gives you the option to experiment with a few.

can you use these on the amerimax vinyl gutters?

Asked by jj December 29, 2020

Yes. I used small screws to secure it to the vinyl gutters. Predrill holes through filters to gutters. Worked great.

How would install this on a rolled roof? The material is tarred down and won't lift up.

Asked by BS November 15, 2020

You would not use it. I believe it is designed to go under shingles.

Is the gutter guard available in boxes of 25

Asked by Pat October 26, 2020

I believe you can purchase them separatly

How does the leaf filter for gutters work out for people who use them

Asked by Shumps October 20, 2020

It is a good product. Easy install. Will last about 5 years or so before the top material wears out. Remove and replace with new. It kept the gutters very clean. There is some maintenance but it is small. My Mom has the expensive gutter guards installed. These work as well as hers for a fraction of the price. Maintaining them is the same.

Can I remove the mesh. It seems to be lightly attached anyway. My intention is to stop leaves, no...

Do you overlap these when installing?

Asked by SueK September 21, 2020

No, just butt them Together.

Very pleased with the guards ability to keep leaves out...
Very pleased with the guards ability to keep leaves out of the gutter, however since I installed the, it has snowed twice and it also keeps the snow out. Consequently, the snow lays on the top of the guard, blocking entry into the gutter and does not allow the gutter or drain to do its job. Now I have ice cicles and water dripping off of the roof over the entire protected area. Not what I expected at all.

Not for long term
This plastic gutter cover might look good and easy to installed. However, after a year, the cover was curved due to the constant sunlight and other exterior elements.

Junk! Buyer BEWARE 0 Stars out of 5
They do nothing for your gutters. Dirt with plants growing out of the gutters. They're a pain to get off and they are cheap and not worth 1 cent. Bow I have to find something else to install myself because I cant afford to hire a company to do it. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Plastic warps in heat/sun
Buyer beware, if these are directly exposed to the sun they will warp in a year and you will be replacing them. Would definitely recommend using screws upon initial installation to extend the life of the guards.

Catches fine debris as advertised then becomes clogged and useless
As advertised. Snaps in easy and fits well. And catches all the "fine" debris in the screen (see image) but then becomes a total block to anything passing through, including water. Was wondering why my gutters were overflowing in a recent rain, and went up and found the screens totally clogged. Wise up folks, it's not the "fine" debris that clogs gutters, it's the big leaves, which this thing blocks easily. Home Depot, your supplier needs to re-engineer this thing-perhaps remove the screen? Figure some way to remove the "fine" debris when it eventually clogs? Tell me I'm missing something. Had to remove all of them.
