Where are AME's tools made?

I can tell you that the blade has "USA Tempered" struck into it and sports a US Patent Number. This suggests to me it was probably assembled somewhere else BUT ... I can tell you it is sturdy. Blade is very thick, handle is a hard wood, No matter where it was assembled, it is quality.

What is the total length of this spade?

THE SHOVEL EVEN DUG UP A LARGE MILK CONTAINER A FOOT UNDER (THE FARM IS 300 YRS OLD SO WE FIND STUFF ALL THE TIME) SABRINA AND TAYLOR

A relatively light-to-lift spade with a good blade contour. The wider flange for the foot is a big plus in my mind. Will use it to shape post holes to proper depth and width for 6" by 6" wooden fence braces and 9"+ diameter fence posts for a cattle gate. Blade appears quite durable but I wish the leading edge was sharper. I'll fix that myself.

A very efficient tool. I was skeptical about a trenching with a spade in my dry clay soil; but I was wrong. This tool was like digging a cake with spoon. i do really appreciate it. it is very easy to use; just give a push with your foot, and there it goes down... Nice engineering design behind the manufacturing; and it is made in the USA too!
