Asked by: rompalong
No; it's a separate hand too that clamps on to the handle of the main rake.

Would it be possible to rake pine needles with this rake? We lost 19 Blue Spruce due to Bark Beetles and the trees dropped most of their needles which has left a tremendous raking/cleanup job. Any help or advise will be greatly appreciated.
Asked by: 8RottsRule
Yes, clean up of pine needles, chain saw and chipper / shredder residue was the prime example when the tree removal service was on site.

My guess is this rake will work far better than any standard design rake.

Includes a small rake to get under bushes and tight spaces. it snaps into the main rake so no need to carry a 2nd rake around. The main rake has two sets of tines. One is the standard stiffness for leaves and lighter material. A second set is thicker an stiffer which is good for scratching into the dirt, or getting sticks and twigs embedded into the grass. When pressing down harder it automatically allows the stiffer tines to grab into the lawn. They are marginal for pulling up thatch or moss. the main rake is very wide so makes raking leaves a breeze and

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why did I wait so long? Well, it turns out I've been suffering with my 30 year old metal spring rake. I didn't know what I was missing! No splinters from the composite handle. My old wood handle gave me splinters. No pain from the wide swath. My old spring rake took forever with its small width. And finally, no loneliness. Invite your young child to learn the joy of raking! I'm serious, the little hand rake is a great introduction for the little ones. Oh, yeah, it is also handy to get in the small places. I cannot believe how much faster this is than my old rake. The design works better on my willow oak leaves too. If I had one complaint, it would be that on uneven ground, the wide swath may cause the rake to miss "divot" areas. This is one place the spring rake had an advantage. But seriously, folks, you want the wide swath. It rules over everything else. The quality looks decent and should last me at least 10 years. Maybe not 30 like my old metal one, but who knows, in 15 years or so it will be time for the next raking innovation.

Home Depot has a less efficient and lesser quality rake for a whole lot less money. The math does not work for me. I own both, and when either of them bust, I will replace it with the cheap rake. They're both made in China.

I bought a home in MI in December and am now just getting to rake the leaves left from the Fall. The weight from snow and rain matted them down pretty good but this rake is like a machine! And the small one is prefect for getting into smaller places and around trees and was perfect for bagging. I highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly Recommend Just being honest when I say not many products live up to their claims, so yes, a bit unsure when I purchased this rake. I can honestly say it has met or exceeded it's claim of making leaf raking easier. I have a lot of raking to do and have used this rake several times now. I'd absolutely recommend it.

It’s sturdy enough to get the big stuff like branches, leaves, and acorns with ease, yet gentle enough to not damage the grass and plant sprouts. Its offset rows of tines really help prevent leaves from clogging the rake.

I have lots of pine needles and I don't have to waste time getting them unstuck from the tines. The smaller rack is perfect for scooping up debris. Also I have lots of lightweight landscaping rock and for the most part the rake leaves it alone.
