Ames Rake
I thought I upgrade and get the wider rake, this was highly rated but it turned out to be junk! It broke in the process of raking leaves in the backyard.

This rake is HUGE. By far the largest rake I have ever used. I was thinking that it may be hard to wield, but it actually is not very heavy and is easy to maneuver. I use it mostly for raking up fallen fruit and small to medium landscape debris. The small rake snaps in securely and is useful for getting under and around smaller trees and bushes. The rake is a durable plastic and the pole is metal. It appears to be well made and should last a long time if cared for properly and not abused. I bought it in-store and it was already assembled. Nice to know that it is "Made in the USA". My only complaint would be the manufacturer stickers all over the item. There are multiple stickers which were difficult to remove and left a sticky residue behind.

        It's A Beast!
Yes, the rake is a Beast! It is about 1/2 foot taller than most rakes (6ft., compared to 5-1/2 ft.), and close to double the width of the rake tongs, compared to the "cheapos". It IS Plastic, but it is a hard plastic, and you'll see by the pics that the tongs are triple wide, so unless you are trying to rake up tree limbs, or you run over it with anything larger than a motorcycle, I think it should do just fine. And leaves or twigs didn't seem to be a problem either. You can't really see on the video, but there were quite a few of those small twigs that I was able to sweep into the pile without getting stuck in the rake, or having the rake roll over them without moving; which is what happens a lot w/ other rakes! One real unexpected bonus was the Green "Mini" Rake. I knew it came with it, but I wasn't expecting how useful it would be. I didn't film this, however, I have used it quite a bit for my flower beds, picking up the leaves in those areas, where the quarters are too tight for a normal rake, without accidentally uprooting your newly planted winter pansies! And because it can attach to the larger rake (or any other rake handle, for that matter), I don't have to worry about losing it!

Why did I wait so long?
Well, it turns out I've been suffering with my 30 year old metal spring rake. I didn't know what I was missing! No splinters from the composite handle. My old wood handle gave me splinters. No pain from the wide swath. My old spring rake took forever with its small width. And finally, no loneliness. Invite your young child to learn the joy of raking! I'm serious, the little hand rake is a great introduction for the little ones. Oh, yeah, it is also handy to get in the small places. I cannot believe how much faster this is than my old rake. The design works better on my willow oak leaves too. If I had one complaint, it would be that on uneven ground, the wide swath may cause the rake to miss "divot" areas. This is one place the spring rake had an advantage. But seriously, folks, you want the wide swath. It rules over everything else. The quality looks decent and should last me at least 10 years. Maybe not 30 like my old metal one, but who knows, in 15 years or so it will be time for the next raking innovation.

        Clever design
If you have to rake, this is the tool you want to use. There is a double row of sturdy plastic tines to collect the leaves. The first row of sturdy tines look like miniature hockey sticks. They loosen up what you want to collect . The back tines are more like a regular rake and easily collect the loosened debris. With one rake stroke, you loosen what you want to collect and you collect it. I don't know if I'll get all the raking done in fewer strokes or not, but I do know that I'll be collecting more leaves than with the regular flexible plastic rake. It doesn't feel any heavier to me than a regular rake either. This rake also has a little rake that fits right on top of the big rake so it's easy to find when you need to reach tight or narrow spots.

        Lightweight and wide coverage
Upon recieving this lawn rake I was holding off review because there simply was no leaves to rake in September. It is now October and a different story as we just came through a storm which came up the east coast but thankfully headed out to sea. But it did provide somewhat of a mess of downed branches and leaves which I was now well equipped to clean up with this fine light, wide, multi use rake. The rake has a snap-on green ploastic rake which allows you to clear out leaf debre under and behind bushes and hedges. The rake is very light weight and extremely wide with a second row of tines to deter clogging of leaves in the teeth. The handle is also light weight but strong and the smaller green rake snaps easily on and off to be with you when you need it to get to those areas where the large rake cannot go. Overall I am very pleased with the performance of this rake. It is light therefore not a back breaker. And very wide so it allows you to clean a larger area every stroke of the rake. If you have a large cement driveway and pathways and sidewalks like I do. It would be a good idea to use this rake in the grass areas only so you do not wear the tines down.

        Great rake with innovative enhancement
Two years ago, I purchased my first wide-head rake and it changed my life. I didn't think it would be possible to do that again, but the Ames 26 in. Dual Tine Poly Leaf Rake Combo may have just improved upon that experience. The most noticeable improvement built into this rake are the "dual tines" -- as you can see in my photos, there are actually two lines of tines on this rake as opposed to the traditional one line. The longer first line of tines break up clumps of leaves that would normally clog and stick to a regular rake's tines, and then the second shorter set of tines come along and pull everything where you want it to go. I compared the time it took to clear two equally-sized parts of my yard, and this rake beat my other wide-head rake pretty easily. I was very happily surprised to discover this because, honestly, I expected the 2nd row of tines to be just a marketing gimmick. The rake arrives in 3 pieces: the handle, which is long and comfortable for my 6'2" body to use, the hand rake, and the head of the big rake. Two screws to hold the head on the handle and you're good to go. The hand rake is designed to snap onto the back of the main rake, but I take it off when I'm going to be using the rake because every once in a while it pops off and I just don't need to deal with it.

        Just an ok rake
I have a lot of small leaves so I thought this rake would do the trick with the extra fingers. The large leafs are a breeze and it does take you have the time. One part of the rank fingers bent to the side but I was able to push it back into place. The small rake that comes with it is handy for my landscaping in small areas. I was hoping someone would make a rake without getting blisters!!! A got a few as normal with 30 minutes of use.

Awesome Rake With A 15 Year Warranty
The rack is twenty six inches in width and almost six feet tall. The handle has a soft grip and the small rack that is attached works great for getting leaves in bushes or hard to reach areas The race assembles in a minute with two pre-drilled holes and sheet metal screws I don't have any fallen leave to rack but I went into the woods and the double row of teeth works great with much less clogging. My old metal race would clog after two sweeps so I can tell this is a winner.

        Unique Rake
Rake design has not changed for decades until now. Assembly took less than 2 minutes. All you need is a Phillips head screw driver. Holes are already predrilled. There are only 2 screws. The difference is in the head of the rank with 2 rows of tines to rake the ground. Very little clogging. Head is wider than the traditional head to cover more ground. A bonus tool is the hand held rake making reaching small areas a breeze. Everything is made of sturdy plastic and the handle is metal. Worth the investment.

          The best rake I've had
It is hands down the best rake I have had. I love the detachable mini rake and use it to scoop the leaves onto the big rake and dup them in the trash. I want another but for my son but can't find them anymore.
