AnswersIt is quite loud on high, not too offensive on the lower two speeds. We boxed the unit on all sides using MDF and this cut down the noise a bit.

Everything about this is awesome! The light is very bright and provided light that we didn't even know we were going to need. The fan is very powerful and the timer is super handy. I was even impressed with the filters screens. Each side has easy to use button/handle that releases the screen and makes it simple to take out and put back in. (unlike other ones I've had in the past that you had to pry out)

We are very pleased with the product, it works so much better than the cheap builder product that was in place for the last 12 years. The filters are super easy to remove and put in the dishwasher. Our old hood had no damper and cold air would filter down into the house on cold days, the Inserta has a damper included. The lights are halogen and are very bright lighting up the entire cooking area. I am a do-it-yourself person with little experience and was able to install. The old vent was hard wired and this model has a plug so I installed an outlet which is actually pretty easy to do. Be careful with the light and fan control buttons when the face is off during installation, I can see where people might lay the vent face down and put pressure on that electronic piece that is fairly delicate. I don't recall if the instructions showed how to release the light fixtures from the hood cover, there are two clips that you squeeze together and they drop out. It took me awhile to figure it out.

It's only been installed a couple days, but I love it! I wanted a "hidden" hood, and this met my requirements. Despite not having a lot of information available prior to purchasing it, I was able to determine that it would fit in a 30" cabinet of "standard" 12" depth. My cabinets are recessed on the bottom, and I was concerned that the unit would be either too deep or too wide given the plywood sides of the cabinet. I will say that it would fit flatter on flat (European style) cabinets, but I am pleased with the look. The low speed is about 1.4 sones (and no, that is not available in the operator's manual OR online), and it's quiet and powerful! Works great, love the LEDs.

Worth the money to have an efficient hood that is completely hidden! Let's face it, hoods are ugly. This unit is small yet powerful enough. I LOVE having the hood hidden away, especially as our kitchen is on view from both the front door and the living room. Appliances should not be focal points.

My buddy and I installed this unit. It was easy to install and all went well. It was installed in a new kitchen that is still under construction so we haven't used it while cooking. In test runs on the low setting it was very quiet. It has a convenient ten minute timer that is activated with the push of a button. The two built in LED lights provide very good lighting for the stove. It also fits in a standard depth, upper cabinet. If you want a range hood that you don’t see but that works well this will work for you.
