The difference between the Andersen 2500 Series Self-Storing Storm Door and Andersen 3000 Series Self-Storing Storm Door is the thickness of the panel and the style of the handle set. The 2500 Series is 1.25 inch thick with a classic style handle, while the 3000 Series is 1.5inch thick with with several choices for the style/design of handle. Also, the Andersen 2500 Series is universally handed and drilling is required when installing the handleset, while the handing of the Andersen 3000 Series can be determined upon ordering it and the holes for its handleset are pre-cut/pre-drilled. Please visit the nearest Home Depot store in your area to check the display doors. - Noel

AnswerI'm sorry to hear you're having a problem with your recently installed storm door, please call the storm door Solution Center at 1-800-933-3626, make sure you have your door serial number ready when you call--the serial number is located in the hinge area, you can see it when you open the storm door completely. If you need someone to re-install the part related to the storm door, please contact the store where you made your original purchase, you do have a 1 year labor warranty.

AnswersAbout 31" wide and 35" tall for the 36" door. Height is approximately 1/2 the total glass section of the door. If you are looking at a narrower door, then the height would be the same, but the width would be proportionally smaller.

Sturdy beautiful storm door!
the door is amazing. feels that it is well made and not cheap. the glass is beautiful and the fact that you can pull the top glass down with a screen already there is wonderful. the install was fairly easy! I'm no handy man and I never installed a storm door before. however, after reading the instructions. making some mistakes, I was able to finish and it looks wonderful. the down side is for almost 300$ you would think that the handle is included. you have to pay another 70$ tax for the handle alone. which is why I gave it a 4 star!

BUYER BEWARE THAT THIS STORMDOOR IS NOT A SELF CLOSING DOOR IF YOU HAVE YOUR HOUSE DOOR CLOSED. EVEN WITH THE TOP OPENED FOR AIR.
I was told by the door and windows associate Joe that this door would self close and seal every time. It was so much better then the old doors that wind and rain could still get through. and Then he said if I had Homedepot install the door they would guaranty the proper operation. The installed the door 9/25/2020...He did say that I would need to pull the glass part of the door down just a little when it rained or to insure it self close. I did like the door very much so I ordered another for the back door 10/2/2020 . when Don came back to install the back door he didn't show me anything about the door, I'm guessing because this was my second door and this time he left all my paperwork in the cardboard box they left on my lawn. No goodbye , nothing. Then I noticed my that the first storm door wasn't latching 11/24/2020 because the little bit of wind was setting off my doorbell alarm but I wasn't home and made a note to memory I would need to call homedepot and have them come out and look at it. Well we had a Crazy wind storm 11/26/2020 that took the storm door so hard that it broke it's hinge. I call Homedepot the very next day because we lost power to. they sent Don back out 1/14/2021, I have him on my doorbell video taking a picture and saying ( The wind took the door so hard it broke the hinge. Then he walked around to the other door still on video that shows that he had to push that stormdoor closed. I didn't even know that door wasn't closing properly until I saw him on video. I called 1/15/2021 and talked to Joe he said He hadn't talked to Don yet and would call me back. Joe never called me back. I called 1/20/2021 and he wasn't there, I was told to call back. I called 1/25/2021 and 1/27/2021 . Finally I talked with Joe and he said that the didn't cover wind. I told him the door was not operating properly and thats why the wind took it. he told me to call Anderson. I did that and talked to Dominic and She told me the same thing. SO BUYER BEWARE THAT THIS STORMDOOR IS NOT A SELF CLOSING DOOR IF YOU HAVE YOUR HOUSE DOOR CLOSED.

Based on the information that you have provided, it looks like there was an issue with the installation which caused the latching issue on the door. We would like to note that currently, Andersen does not offer a storm door product that meets or exceeds strong wind, storm or hurricane code requirements. Since a storm door is installed to the exterior surface of the home for various functional reasons, it is not considered an integral part of the home's structure even though building codes in your area may require this. It is always our recommendation to see to it that the door is properly closed/latched when not in use so as to avoid it from being caught by the wind. - Noel

After 3 years, a total disappointment
The idea behind this door is fabulous; it let's in plenty of light, and the screen is out of sight when not in use. Installation took a few frustrating hours, but wasn't particularly complicated. The VERY FIRST time we rolled the screen down, it ripped out of the side track. I called Andersen, expecting them to replace the door, since it was brand new and flawed, and was told that they would only send a replacement screen, which WE would have to install. After spending almost 300 dollars, I was hoping for better service. We have now had the door for just over three years, and the connection point where the hydraulic soft-close shock just broke off. We bought the door because Andersen seemed to have a great reputation, but this has been frustrating and disappointing from the start! Hopefully Home Depot will replace the door for us, since Andersen has been useless.

I love this storm door with retractable upper screen! My only issue & reason I gave 4 stars is the track for the retractable screen is very loos at the bottom. If that was more secure I wouldn't hesitate to give this 5 stars. The installation was very simple. It installs securely & is water tight (I used caulking around edges before installing) The bottom & top on the inside have plates that can be adjusted to have it flush with no gaps. The screen operates very nicely & the screen is stretched nice & tight. It has a heavy-duty steel, push-button closer that allows you to prop the door open with just your foot & a simple push on the door will unlock the closer & let the door shut (I love this feature when grilling on the deck & my hands are full). The glass is thermally tempered safety glass & is stronger and safer than regular glass; if broken the glass breaks into pebbles instead of sharp pieces (this is nice piece of mind for those of us that have kids & pets). The felt around the edges where the door closes is thick & helps keep bugs, debris & water from getting inside. So, not only do I recommend & give this 4 stars, I will get another for my front door.
