                Great Door!!
I bought this door to bring more light into the kitchen when I have the garage door open. Makes a huge difference, great purchase. I had to cut the width down a little, so I bought a Lenox metal cutting blade for my circular saw.

Door is very sturdy and functions well. It looks nice but some of the factory trimmed edges of the inside window frame of the door have sharp edges. My wife snagged her coat on these edges when entering. I placed some clear packing tape over the sharp corners to prevent future snags but think this will be an ugly solution long term. We have had the door for a week now. Installation took more work than anticipated. There were many steps to the instruction, many parts and a lot of drilling required. 1/2" and 3/4" drill bits that were required to drill the holes for the latch mechanism.

Retractable screen stuck cannot finish install
Door installation went fine until instructions asked to lower moveable window to a comfortable position to install the latch. The window is above the upper trim panel that hides the screen, so the latch screw holes aren't even available. No amount of fingertip pressure on window or compression between my hands can move this window. Removal of the trim piece allowed for installation of the latch but the window still won't move. I was told to replace window. Not good service

I love the door. It is beautiful and lets in so much light. It was, however, not the easiest thing to assemble and mount. The instructions could be a little more clear than they are. I was lucky and have a son that finally figured them out.

                    Get something else
Purchased 3 new Andersen doors from Home Depot in July of 2022, this 400 series for my rear deck porch. By July of 2024 the door was falling apart. I reached out to Home Depot where I purchased them, and they referred me to Andersen. To get a warranty replacement I have to pay Home Depot $40 to measure the door again, ridiculous as nothing has changed, and pay for the installation of $138 again so now I'm into a faulty door for almost the cost of another door. Unacceptable

Poor Assembly & Poor Quality Assurance
Poor manufacture likely due to poor Quality Assurance program. 1.) Multiple fasteners were only partially installed or run down with a 'free hand ' assembly process allowing screws to be installed at an angle (Pic 2, 3) 2.) Fixed glass panel not seated in track & the lip of the track crimped with panel frame sitting on top (Pic 1, 4) I've installed SEVEN storm doors on 5 different homes and it never took longer than an hour. This door took FIVE HOURS and had to be finished on the second day.

Returned storm door sold as new.
I ordered this door online from HD on Wed Sept 18 and picked up on same day. Opened carton on Friday to install and found that the latch and sill side spacers were missing. Call customer service and was advised will take 11 days to receive. I already had my old storm door removed. Then noticed that the 3 1/2" square adhesive spare pads were already on the door and the bottom right side of door was slightly damaged. This was definitely a returned door resold by Anderson. I proceeded installing the storm door as I had my old storm door off already and took the day off work to do it. Totally unacceptable to do to a customer. I thought Anderson had a better reputation than that.

                          Review Update from 06/22/24
🚨DO NOT buy this door! Andersen DOES NOT stand behind their product!🤬 This door is rarely used and disintegrated from the inside out. Called Anderson per response on my review (image attached). They said the door was manufactured in 2013 and is out of 10-year warranty. I explained I purchased the door in 2014 and the warranty should go by purchase date, NOT manufactured date. I don’t have receipt anymore and HD can’t pull records either so I screwed! Waste of my hard-earned money!!! 🤬 🤬 🤬

                            Crappy door
The wood core is already failing. It's as lousy as the larson door I took down. The hinge is also failing. I had to replace the failed closer bracket on the door jamb.
