Not a good door if you have little to no experience, but overall a decent door.
I live in a house built in 1973 it has a standard 36 by 80 door that hi this is the third storm door it's had. this one took a lot of maneuvering against the instructions to do so it did not install exactly as it was described in the instructions. overall it was a decent fit but there was a lot of things I had to do to make it fit properly and look good at the same time.

Easy to install, Cheap materials
We needed a storm door replacement fast. This was on the floor at Home Depot. I know it's the Home Depot brand so I didn't think it was going to be amazing, but the materials certainly feel cheap. We've had it for about 3 weeks and the metal bar that stops you from pushing on the screen to open it, is completely bent. And this is from normal use. The installation was extremely easy but just be aware of what you're getting.

warranty on EMCO doors
2022 - I purchased 3 EMCO storm doors at HD - 4000 series door, and a 3000 series 32x80 door in 2014. I noticed a bunch of rust. Upon inspection, the pins that insert into the hinges, are rotting off my front door.
I contacted Anderson CS(Reyn) and found out that rust is NOT covered in the lifetime warranty. I can pay to replace, but if hinges and pins rust again, it is not under warranty again.
So if you purchased one of these doors, just know that this door is NOT complete under warranty.

The door is quality and looks nice, but we paid...
The door is quality and looks nice, but we paid extra for the Low-E Dual Pane Insulating Argon option - save the money. The door was 20 degrees hotter than my comparable double pane, low-E windows right next to it. The door was even hot to the touch, but the windows were still cool to the touch. Tried tech support, not much help.

Great Looking Door
Purchased the door at home depot, and installed in one day. Easy installation and the door works great. I replaced an order storm door and the newer style are much easier to install. Pretty happy with the purchase and I love how the glass and pop out easily and be replaced with a screen.

The level of detail included for the Installation Guide is very good. However, It lacks in at least two very important areas. The first real installation step is step 3a. The last note states "The gap between top of door and rain cap is intentionally uneven at this step." The next step (3b) involves screwing the storm door frame to the mounting surface... When and how are you to correct the intentionally uneven gap at the top. The answer is, figure it out your self before doing step 3b. Not a good answer! The second issue involves the sweep discussed in step 12d. Since the mounting surface is the front edge of the front door frame, and therefore the installed storm door is in a plane in front of the front door frame, your front door sill must extend beyond the front door frame to provide any sort of connection with the sweep fins. Since my front door sill does not extend beyond the door frame, it is impossible for the sweep to perform its purpose. I am now in search of an offset storm door sweep to address my issue. The door is of good quality, but far too expensive to leave these obvious issues unaddressed.

Bottom plastic bracket was missing so bottom seal is bent...
Bottom plastic bracket was missing so bottom seal is bent and doesn’t seal. One strip is defective and won’t seat(long side). Door won’t close and latch properly. Not the installation, bad door closer’s that don’t pull hard enough to seat latch. Spent 1 hour trying to fix.

I just recently purchased the Andersen 4000 series door as I am doing some remodeling of my perso...
I just recently purchased the Andersen 4000 series door as I am doing some remodeling of my personal residence. I work in construction and installing doors is pretty basic. However, I must say I am very disappointed in the craftsmanship of this particular door. I buy a lot of Andersen's other brand of doors (EMCO), which are low budge doors in the 100-200 range and honestly I am more impressed with them as I have never had any issues.
The 4000 series door is suppose to be Andersen's top of the line door and as you will notice with my pictures attached the hardware does not align with the door. I can see this being possible if this were aftermarket hardware, but this is an Andersen's Door and Andersen 45 Minute Easy Install System Handle Set. As you can see in the attached picture the lockbat (See image: C-3) The spindle for the lockbar latch has no hole drilled into the door, therefore, there is no mechanism to allow the door to be locked from the interior. Drilling a hole would not fix it either, nor should a customer need to. The other issue is the lock case trim plate does not even align with the side of the door, seriously Andersen where is your quality control? As you can see from the pictures it does not lineup properly.
I will never recommend any Andersen 4000 series door to any of my clients. What should of been a easy 20 minute install took 2 hours. The door did not align properly and then the door hardware issues.

If you are experiencing problems installing the interior escutcheon plate on your Andersen 4000 Series Fullview storm door with laminated safety glass (45 Minute Easy Install System), then you may need to install the escutcheon plate slider kit that was included with your storm door unit. To be compatible with the multi-point lock, the current slider pin must be replaced with the shorter, square pin. This pin was included with your storm door unit along with instructions for installation. - Irene
