Why does the store say these are not available with a J-Channel

The AD says "Hardware Included,Integral J-channel,LowE Glass,Paintable/Stainable,Screen Included" but the store says J-channel is not available on 400 series windows. How can this both be true?
Asked by: Thainel
Sorry for any inconvenience. Since there are many different installation applications, the j- channel is not supplied with the window. If you have additional questions, please visit you local Home Depot or call Andersen at 888-888-7020.- Kimberly

They did not. It states the pine is ready for staining..but you had better use a prefinish on the pine or they will turn out blotchy. Condensation on windows when the first 30 degree weather hit. Just did not make a great impression.

I put two casement windows in one room in October of 2016 and they are great. They are quieter than the windows I put in there 22 years ago from S...... Glass and they do not let air come through like my old windows did I also noticed that they don't condensate like my old windows and they open and close easily. They were not hard to install just remove the old one and put in the new one line it up and pop some screws into it and use expanding foam around the window to seal it up. R........ by Anderson wanted over $6000 for just two casement windows (on sale he said) and to make it sound even cheaper they call each glass in the casement a window. I put both casement windows in for $1600. It only took about three hours with trim on inside to install. I did have them install a back door and it was a horrible job still waiting for them to do it right, I'm embarassed to say the price I was talked into it it by wife. I will be ordering four more casement windows for the rest of the bedrooms next month when the weather breaks for the winter here in the Chicago suburbs area. Allen

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Andersen 400 Series Windows I recently installed all new Andersen windows in my home, 100 series in the garage, and 400 series in the house. The 100 series windows were cheaper, all white, only had a single weather strip seal, and needed me to provide and install the jams. Note that these windows, like many others on the market, do not come with jams as an option. The carpenter helping me commented how nice the 100 series windows were. The 400 series windows are supposed to be Andersen's premium window with better double layer weather stripping seals and pine jams. I have these windows in a rental house we own that are 40 years old and look great. The outer vinyl cladding had unfinished sharp edges in many of the corners. Also the pine jams and trim were of poor quality with cracks, knots, and different species of pine, making it very hard to evenly stain. My paint dealer said that they are using imported pine which he has had bad experiences with, especially for staining. The jams also had many scratches from poor packaging for shipment. It took me days to get the pine ready to varnish, plus smoothing out the outer vinyl cladding. Several of the windows also arrived noticeably out of plumb with the frames, causing them to bind, which will require additional work to adjust. If I had it to do over, I'd have installed all 100 series windows, bought solid oak for my jams, and had everything to match my oak trim. The 400 series windows just aren't worth the extra money especially when you consider all the extra labor. They are poorly made JUNK!
