8 in. x 8 in. Drywall Repair Patch

This patch came in very handy, there was a small crack in one of my walls that needed repairing. I didn’t want to cut out a small hole in the existing drywall then cut out a matching piece of new drywall to fill it in. So when I saw this patch, I thought “great!”. Following the instructions on the package, I first made sure the area around the patch was clear, clean, dry, and smooth. Next I removed the backing from the patch, centering it over the spot to patch and pressed firmly to stick it to the wall. Since I didn’t have an actual hole in the wall, rather an indentation, I didn’t use the included aluminum plate. I applied a thin layer of drywall joint compound over the patch and feathered out the sides where it met the wall, letting it dry overnight. The next morning I sanded it smooth, and applied a second coat of the joint compound. After waiting for about 12 hours, I sanded that smooth again. Everything worked as advertised!

A drywall repair patch by Anvil. Measures 4" x 4" (also available in larger sizes) made of lightweight aluminum for repairing holes as large as 3 inches in diameter. Simply sand around the hole and wipe free of dust residue the apply the self-adhesive patch over the hole. Apply patching compound, allow to dry then sand to a flat finish. Fortunately (for me) I don't have a demo to show but will be ready the next time it is needed.

The ANVIL self-adhesive 8 in. x 8 in. drywall repair patch is made of rustproof aluminum. It is lightweight but enables one to make a long-lasting repair. The aluminum sheet is very easy to trim to fit smaller and irregular repairs. I have used many patching kits over the last several years and these are one of the best in that the aluminum that does not rust, but adheres well to the wall and holds the patching compound well. Damaged sheet rock and wall board is something that happens in every home and business. This repair patch makes it easy for the owner to make a small repair. To use this product, lightly sand the area around the damage so that it is flat, cut the Anvil patch to cover the area to be repaired with about an inch minimum on all sides of the damaged area. Clean the area well to remove all dust and debris, peel off the backing paper and stick the repair patch over the area to be repaired. Trowel on a thin coat of standard or quick drying drywall compound covering the patch completely and feathering the edges. Let it dry, lightly sand and apply additional light coats of compound until the defect blends in to the rest of the the area. When fully dry and smoot, repaint the area.

I am loving this drywall repair patch because I have no background in filling holes in walls whatsoever. I had put a piece of left over wrapping paper I had in my closet to cover the hole in my wall due to not having anything else but I used this it was so easy i just removed the sticky glue side from the paper and pressed onto my wall and oui la no more wrapping paper and it looks neat and clean. ANVIL 6" Drywall Patch is a great solution for the DIY wall repair. In my bathroom wall, I had two holes about an inch or so each that I inherited from the previous condo owners. I knew something needed to be done about it but wasn't sure how to approach and was procrastinating. This patch provided an almost instant answer. It was fairly easy to use even for a novice like myself. A bit of prep work was in order. I first sanded the area with 150 grit sandpaper. Then I took the patches, peeled the backing paper exposing the adhesive side, and pressed them over the wall holes. That was easy. Next, I mixed the compound to the peanut butter consistency and applied that with my trusty putty knife. The instructions tell you to apply two layers and sand each one when dry. Be sure to cover the area underneath as this produces quite a bit of dust. Each layer has to be thin and edges feathered in order to blend in with the wall afterwards. Ready to prime and paint, voila! For those unfamiliar, feathering means that you angle the blade of your tool as you go, so that the edges are nice and smooth and level with the surrounding wall. This definitely takes some practice, and I have learned quite a bit. I enjoyed the process and am pleased with the results. These patches really work and I highly recommend them to anyone.

Good product to cover up a big hole in drywall. Not perfect but gets the job done!. Had an old in the wall from a toilet paper holder, that jumbo rolls don't fit in. The bad part was the big square hole that i needed to fix .. Along came this, the Anvil 8x8 drywall patch!! A piece of perforated aluminum covered in dry wall mesh.. Its self stick and you apply 2 light coats of drywall compound sanding after each coat dries, then paint it. And after that no hole in the wall..It takes a little work and some patience, but it works well. Inexpensive and pretty solid after you are done. Glad they make this..

I got these as a backup because I have used these many, many, many times over the past few decades. Damaged sheet rock is something that is just gonna happen, especially with youngun's running and playing. This repair patch makes it soooo easy to make a repair without calling a professional. If you haven't done this type repair before, find a video to show you just how easy it is. Lightly sand the wall around the patch, the adhesive sticks the patch to the wall, add "mud", let it dry and sand it, add the texture, prime with paint, then finish with regular room color paint.

If you have drywall, you'll need a drywall repair kit eventually. I picked this kit because the patch itself is made out of aluminum instead of the steel patches I saw in other kits. No Rust, which surprisingly does bleed thru sometimes. The repair process is straight forward if you have done any kind of drywall work & can spread the spackling evenly & with a good taper.

Useful patches for the DIYer. I used this patch to repair a drywall hole which was too large to just fill with joint compound. I also wanted something a bit stronger that I could put a screw into, because the hole was located where a towel bar was to go. The patch is adhesive, and very easy to apply. The metal mesh is strong enough to support my towel bar without anchors. I applied the patch, then joint compound, then dried overnight and another layer of joint compound. I then sanded and painted. You can see from my picture that it could have probably used another layer of joint compound and sanding; the edges of the patch are visible if you look hard. The packaging says two layers of joint compound is adequate, but your results may vary. Nevertheless, this product did the trick for me and is useful to have on hand when one of your home improvement projects runs into a snag. Recommended.

Great way to repair the dreaded hole in the sheet rock. This patch is easy to use, size adjustable if need be, and sturdy. It makes sheet rock repair quick, easy and easily doable in awkward spaces if your on your own. The material is strong but pliable enough to work with. I used this patch to repair a hole in the wall made by one of the kids and another to patch a larger hole. Both worked great and the finished product was virtually invisible.
