This sander gives you much more control over what you are sanding than a conventional fixed sander. The sand paper is attached to any standard pole. The sandpaper self sticks to the disk without any effort making sandpaper changes very easy. You can tilt, spin, and move the sander in pretty much any direction or angle. This makes sheetrock sanding a breeze. This sander works good for smoothing textures on sheetrock or for sanding out sheet rock seams. Each piece of sandpaper lasts for a fairly long time due to the large size and available sanding area.

Using the round pole sander I found that it stays flat on the sanding surface. The 9 inch disc covers a large area, more than the typical rectangular pole sander. In the corners I found that the rectangle pole sanding pad does a better job due to its rectangular shape. The free spinning head of the round pole sander with protective rubber bumper will not mark or damage the sanding surface, allowing you to sand right up to the corner or ceiling. The hook and loop attachment system allows for quick and easy disc changes. It comes with a universal adapter to attach the sanding head to a standard threaded handle or threaded extension pole (not included).

If you want to get your drywall sanding done fast and with great results, the ANVIL Radial Drywall Sander is what you need. Since I’m always looking for a better, faster way to get things done, when I read the description of the Anvil Radial Pole Sander, it got my attention. After trying it out, I can’t go back to my old 3.25” x 9.25” sanding head. Just doing the math, I found that the radial tool had just about 64 sq. inches of surface vs. the rectangular tool that had about 31 sq. inches. That’s more than double the area with each pass! There’s a protective rubber shield around the outside edge of the tool that prevents marking or damaging any trim or casing that you might accidentally hit - and that will save me a lot of time and work, since I always have a problem with this. The tool comes with a male threaded extension – in case your extension sanding pole has a female adapter on the end. For the rest of us, there’s an adapter that easily attaches to the tool and also fits the male threads on my extension sanding pole. I was very impressed with how smooth the action was and had no problems with ripping the tape at all. ANVIL also makes the sanding discs in various grits, that attach to the hook and loop system that this tool uses. You can find them or others at your local Home Depot – of course. Definitely a 5-star product!

I’m doing a DIY project and I’m definitely not a tape and mud expert. The Anvil made my tape lines look like a professional did it with smooth even sanding.

major flaw in spinning feature design
I put this sander to test by sanding my kid's bedroom wall before painting and sanding drywall mud joints at my garage. it performed really well. however, after using it for a week, the not that attached the disk to the pole, came off. I tried to tighten it back, but it kept coming off after a couple uses. this is a critical design flaw. In the middle of sanding, the disk gets separated from the pole. I was lucky that the walls didn't get damaged. it seems that when the disk spins, the nut and bolt get loose. I cannot use it any more.
