Picked up what the roofers left!
I was nervous after my landlord had my roof redone that my dog was going to get a nail in his paw. I saw the roofers clean up by using a leaf blower! So I knew I needed to get something, definitely was worth the price, much better than paying for an emergency vet bill. I did one sweep around my very tiny yard and it picked up so much. One thing is, you need to listen for the nails or screws to hit the magnet and collect them right away or they will fall off if you keep going.

Handy tool
Our landlord recently had a new roof put on our townhouse. There were so many nails in the yard and driveway amongst the leaves. I would have never found as many as I did with out this tool. It is about 12” wide and has telescopic handle to adjust height. I was amazed at the ability of this magnet. Highly recommend!

This telescopic magnetic pickup tool is such a handy tool to have around! I was building a metal shed and while assembling the roof vent, the jar of nuts tipped over into the lawn. I used this tool to hover over the lawn and it picked up the 5 nuts I was missing in record time. I like how the head can orient into different positions as well! I've used it a few more times already. A true must-have for any homeowner

I bought this after I had a new roof put on. They used a magnet similar to this one to pick up loose nails around the perimeter. I visually saw some after they left so I was worried how many could be in my grass. The first day, I picked up so many nails with this magnet. 2 weeks later I am still running this magnet along my grass and finding more nails. I am very pleased with my purchase and recommend this magnet.

This thing is a god send! Worked better than I ever imagined. Super strong magnet and I was able to use it both outside and inside the house we just bought. Worked great in finding small shards of metal, larger heavy pieces as well as nails the construction team left hiding in the high pile carpet. (It was terrifyingly satisfying to see all the stuff it picked up where we had been walking and parking our cars!)

Our sewing group has found this to be a very useful tool in picking up pins and needles from the laminate wood flooring of the large public library room where we meet. Other magnetic tools we considered/tried were either too small or they had large wheels creating too much clearance between the magnet and the floor to be effective for our purposes. We've only used the tool for a couple of weeks but, so far, we are very satisfied with its performance. It has the added advantage that it is lightweight so anybody can use it-- children jump at the opportunity to use the tool to help out in picking up and they seem to be having fun at it. Our only concern is that, with time, the tool may scratch the laminate flooring but we have not seen that happen so far.

For the money, the functionality was quite good and met my expectations and only $10. I had a deck removed from the back of my house and did not want my dogs stepping on all the nails and screws left behind. You cannot expect this to zap nails out of the ground...you have to work it a little. I had a lot of leaves and so when the magnet picked up nails the leaves came with them which then lessened the power of the magnet. I ended up raking the leaves and then running the magnet across the area. I ran the magnet over a set spot until I was certain nothing else was coming up - and even rubbed it in the dirt, rocks, and debris a little to catch things under the surface. The trick is to be patient.
