The fitting is solid brass. it is also he correct size and well made. The only fault I found, is the rope or recovery connection could be slightly larger to accommodate a heavier cord. Most 1/4 inch cords are made from poor materials. But easy fix with a Drill and bit. I would buy it again.

This is labeled wrong, it's not 1 in. Barb x 1-1/4 in., it's 1-1/4 in. Barb x 1-1/4 in, at the pick-up counter they told me it was the right part number, I told them it may be so but it's labeled wrong on the Home Depot web sight, they looked at me like I was stupid, very sad!
Buyer beware, this will be 1-1/4 in. Barb x 1-1/4 in, HELLO! this needs relabeled.
