My experience is with poly pipe, but think it should apply to your non-kinks as well. I simply slide a loose clamp over the pipe, screw the blue twisters all the way in, then place THE CLAMP DIRECTLY OVER THE TWO INNER-MOST BARBS to assure a solid, liquid-tight seal. Yes, it's a tight fit, but it has to be for the barbs to hold the pipe adequately. These blue twisters are also tough enough that I can also pound them into position using my 3-pound plastic hammer IF I can the beveled tip of the fitting just barely into the pipe,

How can I couple two ends of 1/2 in, when they are ridged and cannot be rotated ?

Answer

One end of the coupling can be inserted into the pipe by rotating clockwise. To get the other insert barb into the pipe, you may need to heat the pipe up. Heating the pipe up with a heat gun or something similar will make it much easier to push the pipe over the fitting. For further questions, please give us a call at 888-229-2874.

This doesn’t work as advertised. The threads are wrong. If you tighten one side it loosens the other. The pic show that

It leaks
Leaked right after installation. No leakage after switching to conventional insert coupling. Bottom line: don’t buy it.

It works as long as you use a hose clamp with it. Otherwise, the tubing may not stay on. Some have worked without them, but some did not. So I use a hose clamp with everyone of them now just in case.

Where to place clamp on Blue Twister
Blue Twister connection data states clamp placement is 1/8 to 1/4 inch in from end of the pipe when squarely cut fully installed. Is there a potential problem if clamping is on ANY part of the barbs, thread or unthreaded barbs? https://apolloflow.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/ss-irrigation-blue-twister.pdf

Threads Cause Problems
The way the threads are on this coupling makes it impossible if you just need to repair a section of your pipe. The threads need to be reversed on one side so can actually screw the whole thing on, however this is not the case. Will be returning and getting a push-style coupler.

Looks good on paper, LAME execution....
Was sold to me as "Just get the pipe on either end of the fitting and start turning it clockwise, it will pull the pipe together as you turn it and then just clamp on either side of the junction. Wala! You can even remove it by unscrewing it if you want." I thought, what a brilliant idea! Until I got it home. In order to function as described, the threads should be opposing! They are not. (my assumption when purchased, you know what is said when you 'assume' something) Even if the threads were correct to provide the functionality described, you would have to be superman to screw it together. Summary: TOTAL WASTE OF TIME & MONEY, JUNK. RATING = ZERO
