Yes, the Apollo 1/2 in. Plastic PEX Pipe 90° Bend Support with Mounting Bracket may be used right before the shower valve.
Heating the PEX will certainly make it easier to bend and conform to the bracket, but it is not required. My application required bending the tubing with a third dimensional route (i.e. not in one plane). This caused the tubing to slide out of the bracket. I used electrical tape at both ends to secure the tube.
You should be able to. If you cannot make the 90° turn with PEX, then consider using a 90° PEX or Push-to-Connect Elbow.
