Once you twist into pipe and clamp how do you twist the second connection if you can’t spin the pipe?
Both ends of the fitting should be twisted simultaneously during installation. The Apollo Blue Twister features a double-helix design that allows the fitting to be rotated clockwise into the pipe
Can I use hose clamps on the barbed ends?
These do not have barbed ends, but rather screw on. I found that they leak even with double banding on each end. It appears the water follows the low point between the threads and comes out the end of whatever type of plastic pipe you are using. .
Yes, they work much better in my experience than the squeeze-on clamps (which work great, then suddenly fail without warning). Suggest using two clamps per connection, with the worm gears on opposite sides. Be sure to tighten them firmly.

Can the blue poly barbs be used with chemicals?
This fitting is designed for cold water irrigation purposes only. It's not compatible with compressed air or gases, and the manufacturer's specifications don't list compatibility with chemicals. Therefore, I would advise against using it with chemicals.
