If backlit with LED paneling will the light show through? In other words are these tiles translucent at all?
ByJul 31, 2026
1 Answer |
Answer This Question

No, this tile is made of dense porcelain, which is not translucent. It cannot be effectively backlit, as light will not pass through the material.

    1 Answer |
    Answer This Question

This tile's finish is Lappato, which is a semi-polished finish with both polished and matte characteristics. The term mixed refers to this combination of surface qualities, which gives the tile its unique, subtle look.

Is this a color body? What is the PEI rating? What is the MOHS rating? Are edges rectified?
              ByApr 11, 2025
              1 Answer |
              Answer This Question

This is a glazed porcelain tile, not a color body. It has a PEI rating of 4, suitable for medium to heavy foot traffic. Porcelain tiles generally have a MOHS hardness of 7+, offering good scratch resistance. The tile edges are rectified for a seamless look with minimal grout lines.

You can tell from the pictures this is a glossy tile so it will obviously be slippery. It's up to you to decide whether or not you are willing to take the risk of slipping on it. Why do you need to have someone else tell you this?

It was beautiful and looks exactly like the photos, I had to order 8 tiles just to get any… luckily that was exactly how many I needed for my bathroom project. Unfortunately two tiles came cracked in half. When I went to return/replace I had to wait a month for them to come pick them up, they wouldn’t accept at the store, then I was informed I’d get a reimbursement for the broken tiles but I had to place a new order for EIGHT tiles just to get the two I needed. They come two to a pack. Wasn’t my fault the bottom tiles were broken on transport…. So basically I have to find a new tile for my entire project or pay $900 to get two tiles then deal with returns again.

The teal we were looking for
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The sample gives a a pretty good representation of the whole 2 x 4 tile. Would've been better of there were a bit more of the orange in the sample, but understandable given the sizes. Looks like it will go great with our new soapstone counters and natural cherry cabinets

                          Stunning
This tile is positively gorgeous. Our bathroom now looks like the inside of a geode. Our first experience working with large format tile. For all DYI peeps out there here are our reviews. 1. It's heavy. This increases with the addition of 1/2 inch trowels morter. 2. Once you set them they are difficult to move. Make sure you are relatively in place before setting. 3. Outlet cuts are difficult. We drilled small holes in the corners of the cut to help remove corner material. Also helps prevent fracture. We lost a tile to improper tapping to remove the rectangle. Expensive mistake. 4. Make sure you have extra tiles. 5. You will use more morter than you think and your walls and floors will be higher/thicker by a lot. You will need to adjust doors, trim, toilet flange height (there is a kit that has multiple shims... buy it), etc. 6. Measure 3 times, cut once. 7. Watch a lit of YouTube videos for large format tile. The nice part. 1. It's stunning. 2. No regrets. 3. Minimal grout. We laid out all the tiles from 2 pallets and I mapped the "veins" as vest as I could. Then I labeled them and marked the floor and walls so each tile had a place. We then restocked them in order of when they would be used. Big time investment up front, amazing result at end. In all we messed up 3 tiles total, but salvaged 2 of them. Project almost complete. Pictures attached. Also the tiles are not 24 x 48. They allowed for grout. The tiles are 23.5 x 47.5. Allow one tile was longer and one tile was shorter by 1/2 inch. Weird. Lastly, we bought a scoring tile cutter online for 48" tile. Best money spent ever.

These tiles are gorgeous, and the packaging was excellent. The texture is smooth with a slight sheen from the lappato finish. My kitchen is about to get a major upgrade.
