Q:Just bought the ,000,000 GAL WHOLE HOME WATER FILTER. My house has low pressure and I want to add a booster pump. Should I install it before or after the pump?
by|Apr 10, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A:Â I would recommend putting the pump before the water filter so it would have normal house pressure input for the water filter. This also protects against the situation if the water filter gets clogged and your water flow just reduces at your taps. If the pump was after a clogged filter then the pump would just work harder and harder which could cause unexpected overheating or damage to your plumbing. Btw, I'm not a plumber but this is what made me decide to put the pump before the filter.

Q:We just replaced the rhino filter tank- where can we dispose of the old tank?
by|Nov 4, 2022
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A:Â Hello,
At this time, we do not offer a recycling program for the large rhino tanks. You may place the tank outside on the curb for pickup with your normal trash service. Many trash services offer safe and efficient solutions for disposing of bulk items.Â

Q:I have a whole house water system that was left by the previous owner. A 600,0000 gallons tank and the water conditioner tank. How do I know how long before I need to replace these. Looks like they are good for about 6 years.
by|Aug 18, 2022

Answer This Question
A:Â Hello Teki,
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, the Whole Home Systems are not designed with built-in water meters for the life span. The EQ-600 has been tested to filter 600,000 gallons or 6-years. If the previous homeowner provided the date of purchase, we can base the life of the tank off that date.

Cleaner Dishes, Better Taste, Easier on Appliance
My Aquasana arrived as scheduled in great packaging to ensure the safety of its shipping. Everyone’s home is different so take time to have a professional install or map out a good placement and dive in like I did. I put in a bypass so water flow is not interrupted while servicing the prefilter or the unit. So far my water fixtures have started to move more freely, the taste is great and dishes dry without spots. I look forward to the next 5 years of dependability.

A high quality product
I installed it myself, though I have plumbing experience. I do not necessarily recommend this as you absolutely do not want any leaks. It was straightforward and took me about an hour to cut and spice into my existing water line. I had no issues, but I am very meticulous when it comes to plumbing.
It has only been a month, so I cannot comment yet on the descaling effect of the "softener". My water comes from a deep artesean well and was already of high quality except for the minerals. I do like that it has not changed the "feel" of my water that you see with traditional salt softeners. It does seem that the "pre-filter" has reduced the amount of sediment I sometimes see in my water. I like that I can change this filter inexpensively more frequently when I need it. I have no complaints and am optimistic it will do exactly what I was hoping for. I also thought it was a good value given the longevity of the "softener".

Great tasting water!
Installation was straight forward, but the instructions leave a lot to be desired, ie. all there is, is a picture of the completed install. Very few instructions. It would be helpful to show the plumbing "behind" the wall. That picture is far from a "normal" install. We flushed the tanks as directed, but after installing, there was still a significant amount of carbon coming out of the closest faucet. I also drained and flushed the water heater to make sure I had all the carbon out of that. Would have been nice to know that ahead of time, and run a bit of water into a bucket before completing the connection back into the house and contaminating all the lines.
The water immediately tasted better (like bottled water). My wife and I both noticed softer water when showering, and she doesn't have to use fabric softener when washing bath towels. The dishwasher also works better, and less scaling on the glasses. I have noticed that there is almost no scale buildup on the faucets or shower heads. However, the scale that was on the shower head has not been cleared off after two months of use. Not a big deal, I can clean that to then insure scale buildup does not come back.

Super. The clean water is great!
I am very happy to have filtered water, where I am not required to lift bags of salt. The installation was challenging hooking up to a well in a basement area to the upstairs location of th filtration system. The pre and post filters required extra time with wall extensions , as well as leveling out the two main tanks due to height differences with a small elevation " table". I still need to have my water tested, but visually it look so clean and odorless@

Thank you for your review!
We apologize for the extra work incurred due to the tank height difference. The tanks are designed to be the same height, but it appears that the salt-free softener you received is the one that matches our shorter, city water systems. We have sent you a separate email to resolve the issue.

What a difference Aquasana makes.
I had everything installed by a professional plumbing company and they did a good job. Where the water softener loop was located the wall space was small, but the Aquasana fit nicely. After running water for a few minutes, the nasty taste of city water was gone. The water smells better and coffee certainly tastes better. This is the perfect system for us.

I've just finished installing the Aquasana EQ-AST-WH whole home water softener system. It works well, however, I've not yet done any water testing.

Our water is now awesome!
I've had the Aquasana one million gallon and water softener installed for about a month now. Our water no longer smells like fish and no more calcification on our shower heads etc.
I had a plumber install it and I'm really glad I did. I could have done it, but I know it is installed correctly with the plumber doing it.
Great product!
