Hello, Pre-filter cartridges should be replaced every 2 months depending on the sediment in your water. The easiest way to tell is to look at your pre-filter -- when it turns brown, that means it's full of dirt/sediment. Sediment levels can vary from one location to another. During the first year of use, a monthly visual inspection is recommended. Upon initial installation, the sediment filter should be white. Once you can no longer see white, or the flow rate has noticeably decreased, it's time to replace the filter with a new one. Allowing sediment to continue to collect can cause clogging and restrict the flow of water into your home. Post-filters should be replaced every 6 months.
