What drain recommend?

Asked by Eider December 11, 2020

Answer

A Standard Tub drain or Waste and Overflow kit should work. It is a personal choice of finish.

Reinforced feet?

Asked by Corkyone August 22, 2020

Answer

There are reinforced feet or pads at the bottom of the tub to help keep it level.

I'm sorry to hear about your issue. If you go to aquaticbath.com and then go to the bottom of the first page, you will see a section for "Service & Support", under that tab, you will see "Warranty Service Request", this is a form that will allow you to submit your information and request for service.

Can anyone recommend a drain and overflow kit that is compatible with this tub? Thank you.

Answer

As far as the DWO connection is concerned, there is nothing unusual and Most off the shelf Kits should work. Most of them are adjustable in their Length and Height, pick one that can cover 8.5" in Depth and 14.5" in Height.

Thank you so very much. I was thinking about the depth of the water when filled. I think it's 1...

OK, Sounds like we have narrowed down to the Overall size. There are a few other things you may want to research...finish being one of them. There is Gelcoat, Cast Acrylic, Hybrid (AcrylX, in between Gelcoat and Acrylic), Composite Material (SMC), stamped Steel and Cast Iron. ALL of these have Pros and Cons, and of coarse, different Price points. Also, the different finishes have different abilities when it comes to manufacturing...which allows different Shapes and Styles. I could write you a Novel about different things, but it will really come down to finding your Style and Price Point. If you aren't in a hurry, take your time and find something that works for you. I will leave you with one last item to research...Depending on WHEN and WHERE your house was built, you may have a Standard Drain Clearance and the Plumbing comes up from under the floor, but there is another method which is called AFR (Above Floor Rough), where your rough in Plumbing is run Above the floor, so you need something that gives you higher clearance than the Standard. Sometimes you can't see this until you pull the old tub out, or you have done previous work. I've always found it helpful to speak with some of your neighbors to see what works they have done on their homes to give you ideas, but also see what issues they may have run into. Also, the Associate at the Store, hears ALL the stories of the local area and they may be able to give you some advice. Anyway, hope this info helps and isn't too confusing.

What is the deepest tub you provide if a 60 inch length with left side bottom drain? Thank you, Rob

Asked by Rob April 1, 2020

Answer

Hi Rob, hopefully, you saw the answer in your previous request. If you are talking about Water Depth, then it will depend on your Outside the tub to the back wall dimension. But to give you some perspective, in terms of Skirt Height, you start around 15" and move up from there and start topping out around 22" (there are a few a little taller, but remember you have to step over and into the tub. If you want to look at the aquaticbath.com website, you can view our various sizes. Hope this helps.

I could not reply to the answer you wrote about this bathtub. Thank you for that reply. My foll...

Answer

From what you are describing, I would say YES, your tub is probably a 60" unit from Stud to Stud. So, back to your original question about the Depth...I can take that two ways...the tub measurement from Outside the tub to the back wall (Front to Back), or the depth of the bathing well (water height). For Front to back, you have many options starting at 30", 32"...then they usually jump to 36" then 42", there are some exceptions of options in between. The depth of the water really depends on the Front to Back dimension. Sorry to not be able to be more specific. If you can give me the other dimension, I can look at options. Thanks

What is the deepest depth available in 58 1/2 length left side drain soaking tub?

Asked by Rob April 1, 2020
1
Answer

I'm sorry, we don't have any units with a Length of 58.5"...are you measuring Drywall to Drywall, or is that Stud to Stud. Most Alcoves for Tubs will measure out at the Studs to be 60".

How does this work with a frameless shower door? While attractive the area under the tile flange ...

Asked by Bdavinci July 7, 2019

Answer

Hello, This tub can be used with a tiled wall or a prefabricated wall set. If you wish to install a shower door with this tub, you will need to use one of our wall sets due to the ledge on the tub below the flange. This will create an evan surface to install a door. We have a smooth wall set or a subway tile wall set. The part numbers are 6030FWS1-AW (smooth wall) or 6030FWS2-AW ( Subway tile wall). If you choose on of our wall sets, we recommend internet SKU's 305552597 or 305552595 for the shower doors. Thank you for your interest in our products.

How do you install a shower door on this tub with a tile surround???

Asked by Hv May 18, 2019
1
Answer

Hello, When you install the tile surround, you can measure the inside width between the walls and the wall height from the top of the skirt and top of tile and select a door accordingly. The installation to a tiled surface should be included in the door manufacturers instructions . Typically the holes are drilled and plastic anchors are inserted. Thank you for your question.

bad experience with this product
Bought Brand new in the box, upon opening and inspection before installation the tub was a bit dirty inside, but the real problem was after it was installed and cement board went up, in doing a general cleaning i noticed a buble in the paint finish which when touched, turned into a hole. Yhe fiberglass behind was in tact must have been some glazing issue befoer paint.

Cracked after 3 months of use.
Really bummed at the quality of this product. Hairline fractures within a month, and a hole in the other side less than 2 months later.

WARNING, if you want to add SHOWER DOORS
I like the tub, the quality and the simple design. Our installers had no problem installing it. The BIG problem came when it was time install the tub glass doors: IT CANNOT BE DONE! Unless you buy their inclosure. We did not b/c we had the bathtub area tiled. The tub edges do not stay flush to the wall. There's approximately 1/2 inch of the tub's edge that sticks out (which would be matched by the enclosure if you use it... ). Therefore, no glass door can be installed unless it's custom made because store-bought doors are made to be flushed to the wall and this tub's edge does not allow it to be done. So if you want to install glass doors, choose another tub and check that the tub stays flushed to the wall. I can't return it now b/c it's installed so we're going to have to go through the pain of getting a custom one.

Worst product I have ever used
I remodel for a living and this has got to be the worst quality product I have ever used.. We installed it and to start with the part where the drain goes was not flat on the bottom so getting the drain to seat correctly was almost impossible.. Everything on this product is so flimsy and poorly made. Then comes the worst part, we install, get all the plumbing done correctly, get the walls up, drywall around everything, and go to step in the tub and guess what it cracks. So now we either have to pay to have the fiberglass fixed or pull everything out of the bathroom again. Worst product ever! Please do not waste your money.

Poor quality, insufficient fiberglass to properly work
Purchased two of these tubs. The first literally tore apart when we installed the overflow. The wall of the tub was paper thin. Exchanged it for a stronger looking one (looked at it before purchasing and leaving the store this time). While this tub was thicker and a little sturdier, it was still very fragile. Super lightweight fabrication makes me nervous every time I step into in. Also, when we installed a shower door, despite pre-drilling, it spiderwebbed. Shouldn't have even bothered with the replacement when the first was so bad. I really like the simple lines and deep tub, but wish I'd gone with a better quality unit.

I am adding to my earlier review, as I noticed that another reviewer recommended against the matching alcove surround panels. After installing the Capistrano tub, with which I am very pleased, I upgraded my surround using 12 x 24 porcelain tiles. Bath and tile surround made for a very classy look.
