Hello, if your siding uses a powder coat based paint, most commercial tapes, such as 3M outdoor tape will be able to hold up the house numbers if you use two layers and allow 72 hours for the tape to cure. Thanks for reaching out!

Was this a hard install?

I didn't have any problems installing the 4 numbers that I bought. Figuring out how I wanted to arrange them and then measuring all of the marks probably took the most time. If I'm recalling correctly, you will need a drill. I'm happy with the results. Good luck!

Are these marine grade metal? I am looking for numbers that can withstand salty air and install at house on the coast.

Hi Sandy, our house numbers are able to be installed either flush against the wall or you may leave the mounting screws partially out of the holes for a floating number effect. Whichever style you prefer! Either method will not show any screws or holes in the house number. Thank you for reaching out.

Answer

Hi Eileen, if you would like to have a set of house numbers that read "18166" in our 5 in. Antique Brass Floating House Numbers, you will have to purchase each number separately. You may do so by choosing the "Character" in the drop down menu under "Choose Your Options". Thanks for reaching out and don't hesitate to contact us again should you have any further questions!

What material are these made from - can they be painted - how do they mount to a wall.

Answer

Hi Shelly, our 5 In. Black Floating House Numbers are forged from brass with a black painted finish. They may be painted, although it would void the warranty. Our house numbers are able to be mounted using the included hardware by following these instructions: Manually screw the blunt ends of the included screws into the back of the house number. Mark the wall at the desired location using the number with attached screws as a guide. For wood walls, drill a 3/16” pilot hole at each marked location. For stone, concrete or stucco walls, drill a 5/16” hole to a depth of 1-1/2” at each marked location and push the included plastic anchors completely into the holes. Manually push the number into the holes or anchors. If necessary, gently pound the number into place being careful not to damage the number surface. Optional: Leave the screws partially out of the holes or anchors for a floating number effect. Installation instructions and hardware are included with all of our house numbers. Thanks for reaching out!

I need two "4s." Do you also make the number 4? I don't see it on the Home Depot website.

I purchased the numbers 4459 in antique bronze. HOWEVER, the 5 and the 9 WERE A DARKER SHADE OF ANTIQUE BRONZE THAN THE 2 4s- which I did not realize until after the contractors had installed all the numbers: 4459. I purchased another 5 and another 9, thinking the mismatch was a fluke. HOWEVER, the 5 and 9 I received in THE SECOND PURCHASE WERE STILL A DARKER HUE OF "ANTIQUE BRONZE" THAN THE TWO 4s. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND IS INDICATIVE OF A QUALITY CONTROL ISSUE WITH THIS VENDOR!! I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!

These are larger than the average house numbers. If you are looking to create an updated look, these will definitely help your curb appeal. It would be nice if there was a template for multiple numbers to be equally spaced and straight.

I bought these numbers for a sign that I created myself, and they worked perfectly. They are made of a nice, thick metal. I think they look classy and I would recommend them!

Stylish house numbers
I needed house numbers to match the 100-year-old door hardware of my front door. These numbers were simple and stylish, and were moderately priced. The product photos are accurate. You can choose to install them as "floating" numbers so that they are not flush with the surface, or you can mount them more traditionally - we chose to float them.
