Questions & Answers

Will the 160 PSI booster you sell make this kit work?

Asked by: Scott
It'll work with a 160 psi pump but it won't work very well. If you want a fine mist, as you might find at a restaurant or commercial establishment, you'll need a 1000 psi pump. More money yes, but well worth the difference !

what is needed to connect the stainless pipe to the booster pump?

do you use plastic pipe from the booster pump to the stainless pipe? how does the plastic pipe connect to the stainless pipe?
Asked by: Bill
The part is only made by AR Blue Mist as Arctic Cove doesn't sell the part required to attach it to a 1000 psi pump. For the 160psi pump that Arctic Cove sells you could use rubber hose and a few hose clamps

can I buy 90 degree elbows for these pipes or does it only go in a straight line?

I want to put this along the outside of my patio (ie 3 sides of a rectangle).
Asked by: Bill
Yes but remember Everytime you use one it reduces the pressure a little so use them sparingly. If you need to make a change in direction use a 3/8" tubing bender when possible.

Does it come with a on/off valve?

Asked by: Kudzu
No, you can either turn of the water supply or if you buy the AR Blue Mist pump it has a automatic shut off valve when you turn it off. I'd still recommend shutting the water supply value of as a precautionary measure

20 ft. 3/8 in. High Pressure Misting Kit is rated 1.9 out of 5 by 9.

I llive in AZ so this time of year misting is almost required if you plan on being outside at all during the day. Given this we have lots of options for misting systems around here. I have had many of these systems and this one was the nicest looking ever at the price. Initially. However after setting up the system I realized I need a high power pump and a hose adapter or else no bueno. Little late now. Cant return and its not working. I am going to try to go and buy some new nozzles and I have some nozzels from old systems so I will see what happens with those but at the end of the day if it doesn't work no deal is a good deal. I got burned. Never again Arctic scam.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good and bad The whole system together was very clean and looked exactly like I was looking for. Assembly and installation was also a breeze. The problem was that it leaked badly. As I learned, the two part nozzle is not effective. First it leaked from the base of the nozzles so I removed all of them and used Teflon tape to stop the leaks, but then they leaked from the nozzle tips. So I removed all of those and used Teflon tape again (very time consuming detailed work). That did not work either so I removed all of the nozzles and purchased brass one part nozzles, along with Teflon tape and that finally did the trick. After having gone through all of that, I am happy with the end result, but cannot recommend the nozzles as they are and would advise anyone else to also purchase the one part nozzles and use those instead of the nozzles that come with it. Booster pump works great as well. Another huge plus is the cost; a similar system would run a couple thousand dollars, so the purchase of the other nozzles is easily justifiable. Worth it if you are patient enough to work it out. Good luck!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stay Away This is the top of the line mister system made by Artic Cove. I purchased it with the intent of having a restaurant quality system at home. To do this properly you need a high pressure water pump. When I got the kit I noticed in small print on the back of the box, (can not use with booster pump MBP160)This is the only booster pump Artic Cove makes???? In the instructions it tells you to connect a booster pump. So you cant use this kit with the only pump Artic Cove makes. I called the company, Artic Cove. My answer from them, you need a booster pump that puts out more PSI. Ok, you want to give me a hint? Anything under 1000 PSI but over 160 PSI. I was told to check some other web sites to find the right booster pump. What doesn't make sense about this answer. I returned the kit!!!!!!!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Artic cove mister I myself bought this system. At first it was a problem because of course I didn't see that you needed a pump. No problem! I went and bought other tips that did not require a pump. I used the low pressure tips now it works great. with the nice bar restaurant look.
