How do you adjust the mower belt?
This machine would have slack in the belt until the lever is engaged. If you have slack after the lever is engaged I would make sure the cable is hooked up properly to the idler arm and the belt is routed correctly around the pulleys. If that is done the mower may need to go into a dealer for service.

Plastic used in the transmission?
It starts right up every time!
For now I can say it works great ... I have cut 3 acres with it 9 times since I bought this tractor never has it given me a problem very smooth ride ... now to be honest I can't say how well the transmission will be in the future for now I am very pleased ... 100 times better than my old craftsman
The transmission has held up well as long as the mower is used as it is designed for. If the transmission fails it is covered by a 2 year warranty to the original purchaser of the tractor.

Yes you can use mulching blades. If you want to mulch you will want to purchase the mulching kit. This kit will come with mulching blades. Kit part number is 73602200.
