Overall I'm glad I bought this washer/dryer combo.
I have used this washer/dryer for 3 weeks now; at first I was a little uncertain about the options available to wash & dry clothes because it is different that what I am used to. But, now that I've used the machine a few times I am feeling glad that I bought it. It has several cycles, and various options for drying time & water temp. This unit really gets the clothes clean! And the dryer works just fine, but it takes about 3-4 times longer than the common clothes dryers, (of course this is not ideal for a lg family).

This product has some good features
Personally I would give this a 6-7 on a scale of 1 to 10. It looks great, and it functions well, but I am disappointed in the versatility of the unit. It's confusing & difficult to explain but, for example it will not let me choose the drying time in minutes; this unit is made (if my understanding is correct); in Italy; the dryer can be set on "cupboard dry" (completely dry), "iron dry" (just slightly damp), 180 degrees, 60 degrees or 40 degrees. Also, you can only do a full (11 lb) load on 2 of the cycles; the other cycles are limited to 6.6 lb, or less. I am still learning ways to get around the limitations. I will say it does a good job of getting the clothes clean & dry. Also it was easy to install; the necessary items (like the hoses) were included; my husband was pleased about that.

Wish we had decided to run a vent
Loved the convenience of setting this little guy into our available space, without the hassle of having to run a vent or 220 line. But now that it is in place, the weekly inconvenience of having to run many small, 3 hour loads (4 towels = 3 hours, 3 blue jeans = 3 hours, mixed tees, undies and socks = 3 hours, etc) that I could have run in one load in a standard front end loader, makes me wish that we had taken the time to wire and vent instead. This unit, because of the self-condensing properties, needs very small loads to "dry" and the dried items come out wrinkled, moist and often need ironing. Seems well made, lots of options, just probably better suited for Europe, where the electricity is 220, and the drying would be more efficient. Ours is now sitting idle, because the load got off balanced (which happened often), and we could not get the door open to resettle it. After endless trying, Mr. Brilliant decided to try and pry the door open, and broke the plastic door latch. Now I can't find a local repairman to come fix. Ariston does not have a service provider in my area.

    Perfect little machine
Bought it about 4 month ago when they first appeared in Home Depot. Its bigger capacity than competitive brands of same size (24 inch ones - and not requiring 220v line). Drying time takes longer of course because its self-condensing (does not require vent) - that is same deal with all models that self-condensing - even separate ventless dryers. Not that complicated to use unless this is your first washing machine or you used product that was popular in 1960's and they kept making it same for decades. This is one of true european machines with all pro's and con's. Alas its 220v there and dryer works tad faster overseas. So far no problems except when I almost ruined it by forgetting remove shipping bolts on back when we brought it home. Luckily it survived - dont make same mistake!

      Overall a good product
We have had this now for a couple of weeks and overall, I am satisfied with it. We replaced an older model and find that it does have a better dryer, but still takes a long time (3 hours) to dry a small load.
