Questions & Answers

Does it leak?

Asked by: Msa
I used the foil weather tape every where it said in the instructions, & my shed does not leak at all.

Is this already built or I would have to build ?

Asked by: Grace
you have to build it by reading manual step by step. Item numbers are written in manual and on the parts also. First you need to make your structure base. I used redwood for the bottom structure first and bolt it down to concrete( best way of keeping it out of water, securing for the wind), then I put floor plywood on top of it so you have place to screw the shed frame down. Definitely a 2 people job.

Does this come with any kind of floor?

Asked by: Arcs1717
Yes it did come with a floor kit, but you need to supply your own plywood. It said on the the front of the box Floor kit included. So if you get a box that says that or you may not get it. I did not use the floor kit I built my own floor from cinder blocks, 2 x 6's & plywood. My shed is about 7" off the ground. The kit included would have been about 1 to 2 inches off the ground. Good Luck

Dakota 10 ft. x 8 ft. Steel Shed is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 110.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent little shed for price Took myself and my wife a day plus a few hours to setup. Unlike others, we had no issues w/ screws not lining up w/ holes, you just have to build it on a flat area - I did it in the garage and then got a hand moving it to it's base. My base wasn't perfectly square and that was a mistake. We have two of these sheds... one came w/ a rental property we bought and the other we built. Both lasted at least 5 years until the same storm brought a tree down on one and 3 1/2 feet of snow crushed the other one. We had zero rust at any time. The only real complaint I have is that the doors don't slide well even if you clean the track regularly. When the doors pop off the track after a full day or yard work, it's frustrating. I'm going out to buy replacements and will be buying the same shed again. The tree would have smashed nearly any shed, and leaving 3 1/2 feet of snow was my fault.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Saving a few bucks is just not worth it. I needed multiple sheds and since one was for storage I decided to try out the Arrow Dakota based on price and the fact that for storage, a metal shed would be fine. Upon opening the one box that was extremely heavy we found all of the parts fairly clearly labeled. The one thing I appreciated most about this product was they gave you more than enough screws bolts nuts and washers so that as you were building in case you lost dropped whatever into the dirt one of these items you had plenty of backups. However, on the downside the instructions were overly complicated. The part labeling for all panels was on the exterior of the shed which kind a looks tacky to the Mrs. Now for the roof. If I can give you one piece of advice should you choose to buy this product… Assemble the entire roof on the ground. I REPEAT. Assemble the entire roof on the ground. Unless your arms or 3 to 4 feet long... you will save your self plenty of headaches by assembling the roof on the ground and then having a few friends help you lift

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Know prints Bought the Dakota shed and was told it would take about a day and a half to build. It took me and my 11 year old son 15 hours on a Saturday. The directions did not say to leave out certain rows of bolts for the ridge/wind caps to be installed later. This set us back a couple of hours and was particularly tough to go back and redo as you have to lean over the entire building to reach the screws - fortunately, I am 6'3' but it was still tough. That is the reason for the 3 star rating. Must be very meticulus in applying the weather stripping which we were. Used calk the next day on all joints and the building has not leaked once. Building is only as good as the time you put in it and in our case we love it. In BOLD LETTERS - prints should say to leave out the bolts mentioned before. Would have made a world of difference.
