Is this the largest shed you sell

Also what size is the garage door
Asked by: Jeff
I believe this is the largest shed that Home Depot sells. I am unsure of the garage door size, but I did replace the side door with a steel insulated door. The side door I replaced with a 28" door, which I had to cut down the door and frame.

Customer Reviews

Murryhill 14 ft. x 21 ft. Vinyl-Coated Garage Type Steel Storage Shed is rated 2.7 out of 5 by 58.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the savings THIS IS NOT WORTH THE SAVINGS!!!! The parts are not clearly labeled, the instructions are not written clearly, the holes don't line up if you are a hair off, and the garage door doesn't come with everything you need and the holes are not pre drilled, and it leaked the first day it rained so I had to seal it. I would not recommend this shed to anyone. I purchased this on sale, and it was roughly $1000 cheaper than the material cost of a wood shed. However, I could have assembled a wood shed within a single day. This shed took 2 full weekends, plus hours every night after work during the week. You absolutely cannot assemble this alone, and you absolutely cannot assemble this if the wind is blowing over 5 miles an hours. The wind picked up while I was assembling the roof, and blew the shed right off of the base. I was lucky that only a few pieces bent, but none of the holes lined up after that.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 12x17 shed This shed wasn`t too horrible to assemble as long as you pay attention to the instructions closely and don`t get ahead of yourself. The materials are pretty cheap and flimsy. The panels are easily damaged. Unfortunately mine only stood firm for a week before 85 mph winds pretty much destroyed it. Allow yourself a few days to build this thing. It took me 4 days by myself, but I wouldn`t recommend doing it without help. For the money, I would add a little more and get a real shed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very poor materials, bad customer service from Arrow, Garbage!!! So after reading multiple reviews of this shed both good and bad I decided to the trade off of saving some money on buying this kit was worth it from the negatives I'd read about. Most of the negatives were how difficult it was to install, how many pieces there are etc. I wasn't worried about that and after receiving it I can say yes it is a lot of work to construct but most mechanically inclined people can figure it out no problem. The materials are very thin especially the support structure. After getting about 80% of the shed completed I walked into my back yard to see the shed that I've spent thousands of dollars on and lots of man hours to be crumbled up pile of scrap. (See Pictures). I cannot stress to all potential buyers to please do yourself a favor and spend your hard earned money elsewhere. There was no major storm, tornado or hurricane that caused this. The weather was beautiful with a light breeze. This shed is made with the cheapest and thinnest materials possible that crumbled under its own weight. Companies used to care about the quality of products they put their name on but not anymore. I contacted Arrow Sheds directly to see if they would make the situation right. I received terrible customer service in the name of "that's our policy". I emailed them the pictures and explained the situation they only thing they offered me was to purchase the pieces that were damaged (which would be 70% of the parts). They wouldn't offer any sort of refund/ exchange or even to send out replacement pieces to fix the damage. It saddens me that this is how companies treat customers nowadays. Companies used to take pride in the products they put their name on, but long gone are those days. Customer service and Quality have been replaced with "Policy" and the largest profits possible. Companies spend more money on marketing trying to sell us inferior products instead of actually producing quality products that would sell themselves. Now I'm stuck with this scrap metal in my back yard that I'm going to have to pay to haul away to the dump. Again please do not buy a sorry excuse for a shed from Arrow. Not only is the material poor, with the amount of work involved in assembling this erector set you can use stronger materials with the same amount of effort and a little more cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from arrow vinyl VT1217 building I had a VT1217 building for a number of years and a couple weeks ago it was destroyed by a small twister. A tree about three foot in dia. and seventy five foot tall fell on the building. The building is so strong it held the tree but was twisted out of shape so bad it had to be taken down. Nothing in side was damaged. I placed an order for a new building from Home Depot on line and it was delivered in days right to my house. I'm building it on the same foundation and slab. Construction is easy but only if you follow the instruction manual. It takes two people to construct this building and will take about four or five days to compleat. Don't compare this building with the cheap tin sheds that you buy at other stores. This is a well built , good looking building even your neighbor will like. I will rate it a five in looks, quality, ease of construction and price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This product is very difficult to put together The material of this shed is very easily dented. The steel is very thin. We received one piece that was not properly drilled. Definately need a hand drill to put pieces together. A wood shed would be easier to put together. It is very large and spacious.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from installation this shed was definately a tough install.I could not find anyone to profesionally install it so I did it myself.you will definately need three days and at least 3 people to install this.panels are thin and bend very easily.the instructions are not very informative.the steps tell you what to do and what part to use,but it doesn't show exactly how it goes,so you will have to guess a little.also some steps show parts in one place then a few steps later the picture shows the part in a different place, confusing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This is a light metal shed This shed was mounted on a concrete slab --- has been a OK storage shed for 10 years -- Metal is light gauge and will not withstand abuse from children (balls, Frisbees, etc.). Bought it to store camper and summer toys. Has stood up to several sever snow storm and 28" of snow. Doors are average and will need adjusted every so often. Assembly was fairly straight forward.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent shed, terrible door instructions The shed itself is just fine. It is a long job to put together. The overhead door instructions, however, are incomprehensible. If you haven't put together one of these doors before, good luck, because the instructions are no help whatsoever. UPS delivery is to the curb only. They will try to hit you up for an additional fee to unload the shed from the truck into your driveway. Otherwise, you have to be present and unload it yourself. Some door panels were crushed in packing at the factory. Home Depot took care of getting them replaced with no questions asked.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A nightmare The instructions were vague. Not all the parts were identified. Some parts were missing. It required constant re-assembly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Thought this would be a quick easy way to get... Thought this would be a quick easy way to get a shed upright and get my stuff moved. I had nothing but troubles with the install. Instructions started out easy and I was all for it then when I started putting up the side panels, I got to the third panel and the first two holes lined up then the rest of them did not. I measured again I was still square my lengths were correct but the holes were not. It needs better directions. I ran into the problem building the trusses. There was no clarification on how to install the beam supports. Looking at the picture I just went with what I saw and it was wrong. Then installing the end gables that was a chore. Not happy with installation. I am still building it so quality I can't say.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Instructions were hard to understand. Small missing parts.....very small... Instructions were hard to understand. Small missing parts.....very small screws that had to be replaced. Extra parts. Flimsly material that dented very easily. Side door had to be reconfigured with a few home made and/or redesigned to fit. It was a good price......but very flimsy. We will be reinforcing many areas of it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good shed but instructions not always clear. The building itself is decently constructed and when anchored to a concrete pad is fairly sturdy. The front roll up door is better quality than I expected, but the sliding side door is a bit flimsy. Putting the buliding together is a job for more than one person. At least two are needed but if three people are available you can move much more quickly. The biggest challenge was interpreting the directions, which were not always clear. We did have to back up once or twice to change bolts we put in the wrong location because we couldn't quite figure out the schematic. Nothing significant though, just a little irritating. The largest, and most troubling issue we had to deal with was the fact that the roof trusses that ran from the center support A-frame to the gables were 1-1/4" too long. While we initially thought we laid the floor railing out to the wrong length, we noted that the siding aligned perfectly with the length of the building and nothing else seemed out of line. The only conclusion we could reach is that trusses for a different model were included. We cut the extra length off so they would fit and had to re-drill some mounting holes for the roof panels. We were fortunate enough that were putting this up at our work place and had a nice band saw available that made quick work of the cutting. Otherwise this might have been more than inconvenient. I give this an average rating due to the problems with installation, but the shed itself is nice and well suited to our needs. If you're handy with making these sort of on-the-fly changes, you'll be ok with this shed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Whew, got it up This can be done by one young guy in good shape and some mechanical skill. However I would recommend two people. There were some misaligned holes (not bad) and the strength of some things should be increased. Some areas of the instruction booklet should be revised, the 10X12 framework sides are one piece (spent 15 min looking for pieces that were not there). Still it was worth the price and will provide good storage space for many years. I really like the garage door, makes getting stuff in and out easy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk! This was an expensive purchase that was complete JUNK! We ended up using the tin for skirting around our sons trailer because the shed would not stand up to the wind! Highly recommend you look around for something OTHER then this!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very difficult product to assemble This shed was very difficult to put together. It took MANY weekends and 2-3 people at all times. The directions are absolutely horrible!! The product came with damaged parts that had to be re-ordered (only to get more damaged parts). The metal on this shed is very flimsy and the side door is very hard to open and is cheaply done. The roll up door was another whole project in itself and took a lot of adjusting to get it to work. Same yourself time and grief and get a vinly shed!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from What a breeze My buddy and I put this together in a day. Foundation was already down of course. It went up fast enough to have time and play with Sadie and her friends. I would recommend this shed to anyone with nothing better to do on a Saturday morning. You'll love it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth The Money It took two of us about 10 total hours to put this shed up. Try to have two cordless drills if possible. I really like the roll up door. All of the parts were there. I did have to have them send me replacement roll up door because the door that came with the shipment was damaged. The replacement door was delivered in about 4 days. They never did come and p/u the old door after I called them twice and they told me both times that they would send a truck asap. After two weeks I ended up putting the two sections by the curb for the scrap guy to p/u. Had a little trouble figuring out the framing of the middle rails on the side with sliding door as the instruction are made for all size sheds with this design. Over all a very good shed...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The steal could be much heavier. For the price it... The steal could be much heavier. For the price it is a decent shed. I had to upgrade the hardware to self tapping screws. I am also putting 2 in foam on it to strengthen the sides and pop rivoting a steal stud along the top for strength. Do not build this shed if it is windy outside. Also the directions could be a little more clear. Also suggest using a 2 x 4 to support the corners as you try to get the building square. If you can afford a stick frame building.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolutely Junk Bought this planning on hay storage. No where in the directions does it mention that you need 5 people to put together. Super flimsy. Couldn't get it to stand up on its own while putting together kept falling in bending. Had to have extra people hold walls up. Instrustions so horrible took 4 hours just to put trusses together. Do not buy this building. I'm in Oregon.
